6. Solid state characterisation and compaction behaviour of pharmaceutical materials
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, factors important in tableting operations and for tablet properties have been studied and characterised by different spectroscopic techniques as well as by some more conventionally used particle characterisation techniques. The spectroscopic techniques solid-state NMR, FT-IR and NIR spectroscopy, proved to be valuable tools in the estimation of particle and tablet properties, offering both specificity and sensitivity in the measurements. 7. Ultrastructural Aspects of Pulp Fibers as Studied by Dynamic FT-IR Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Dynamic (or 2D) FT-IR spectroscopy in combination withpolarized IR irradiation has been used in this work to studywood polymer orientation and interactions on theultrastructural level in wood fibers in the native state aswell as the effects of different pulping processes. The woodpolymer interactions were studied under both dry and humidconditions. LÄS MER
8. Retrogradation Properties of Starch
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis was to examine various factors influencing starch retrogradation. The reassociation events of starch, which are closely linked to the staling of bakery products, were mainly studied by thermal analysis. Some aspects of starch gelatinization are also included. 9. Polypropylene : Morphology, defects and electrical breakdown
Sammanfattning : Crystal structure, morphology and crystallization kinetics of melt-crystallized polypropylene and poly(propylene-stat-ethylene) fractions with 2.7 to 11.0 mol% of ethylene were studied by differential scanning calorimeter, wide- and small-angle X-ray scattering, polarized light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. 10. Towards a retro-structural design of degradable aliphatic polyester-based materials
Sammanfattning : The increasing amount of accumulated plastic waste has led to a continuous search for degradable materials for use in a variety of applications. This eco-friendly approach contemplates the use of degradable alternatives to the inert polymers (the main components in plastics) used today and further engineering of their degradation pathways.
