  1. 1. Estimation and detection of transmission line characteristics in the copper access network

    Författare :Fredrik Lindqvist; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Digital subscriber line; DSL; line qualification; twisted-pair line; copper access network; cable modeling; crosstalk channel estimation; estimation; detection;

    Sammanfattning : The copper access-network operators face the challenge of developing and maintaining cost-effective digital subscriber line (DSL) services that are competitive to other broadband access technologies. The way forward is dictated by the demand of ever increasing data rates on the twisted-pair copper lines. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Crosstalk in Wideband Wireline Systems -- Curse and Blessing

    Författare :Yezi Huang; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The fourth generation broadband (4GBB) concept aims for ubiquitous and high-speed data communication over the existing twisted copper pairs between the last distribution point and the customer premise equipment. Although it saves deployment cost for the last-mile communication, using the existing copper infrastructure makes the system vulnerable to crosstalk due to electro-magnetic coupling from the neighboring pairs. 3. 3. Characterisation of Optical Fibers Using Dual-Comb Swept-Wavelength Interferometry

    Författare :Ekaterina Deriushkina; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; coupled-core multi-core fibers; channel modeling; swept-wavelength interferometry; characterisation measurements; transfer function; dual-comb spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : The growth in data traffic coupled with trends in internet use will result in a requirement for interfaces of the network to reach Tb/s data rate in the future. Considering this, novel transmission techniques that can increase the date rate with orders of magnitude must be considered. One such example is space-division multiplexing (SDM) fibers. LÄS MER
