  1. 1. Coping strategies and health-related quality of life in persons with traumatic spinal cord lesion

    Författare :Magnus Lundgren Elfström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :spinal cord injuries; scale development; coping behaviour; distress; mental health; quality of life; psychometrics; validation; cross-sectional;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall aims of the thesis were to investigate coping strategies employed by persons with traumatic spinal cord lesion (SCL) to cope with the lesion and its consequences, and to study the relations between coping strategies and health-related quality of life (HRQL). Further, specific contributions to SCL-related scale development were given. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Covariate Model Building in Nonlinear Mixed Effects Models

    Författare :Jakob Ribbing; E. Niclas Johnsson; Mats O. Karlsson; Janet Wade; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmacokinetics Pharmacotherapy; Pharmacokinetics; Pharmacodynamics; Modeling; Covariate selection; Stepwise selection; Covariate analysis; Methodology; Model validation; Model evaluation; Type-2 diabetes; Beta-cell function; Meta analysis; Cross-validation; Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator; Pharmacometrics; ED optimization; Farmakokinetik Farmakoterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Population pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) models can be fitted using nonlinear mixed effects modelling (NONMEM). This is an efficient way of learning about drugs and diseases from data collected in clinical trials. LÄS MER

    Författare :Mikael Hasselgren; Gunnar Johansson; Staffan Janson; David Price; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Adult; Adolescent; Asthma; Case-Control Studies; Causality; Child; Cross-Sectional Studies; Diagnosis Computer-Assisted; Epidemiology; Prevalence; Primary Health Care; Validation Studies; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives. To describe the prevalence of asthma in a mid-Swedish region and measure the detection rate of asthma in primary care. To compare clinical outcomes for adolescents with asthma in primary care or in paediatric care and to perform a clinical validation in children with airway, nose and skin symptoms. 4. 4. Heterogeneous Knowledge Sharing in eHealth : Modeling, Validation and Application

    Författare :Yang Guo; Guohua Bai; Eriksén Sara; Anita Mirijamdotter; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Knowledge sharing; eHealth; Activity Theory; Ontology; Decision making; Appointment scheduling;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge sharing has become an important issue in the eHealth field for improving the quality of healthcare service. However, since eHealth subject is a multidisciplinary and cross-organizational area, knowledge sharing is a serious challenge when it comes to developing eHealth systems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Validation of antibodies for tissue based immunoassays

    Författare :Sandra Andersson; Anna Asplund; Fredrik Pontén; Kenneth Wester; Mike Taussig; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antibody validation; Conjugation; Estrogen receptor-beta; IHC; ISH; Lymphohematopoietic tissues; Proteomic; RNAseq; TMA; Transcriptomic; Patologi; Pathology;

    Sammanfattning : In situ protein detection in human tissues using antibodies reveals the cellular protein localization, and affinity-based proteomic studies can help to discover proteins involved in the development of diseases. However, antibodies often suffer from cross-reactivity, and the lack of positive and negative tissue controls for uncharacterized proteins complicates the mapping of the proteome. LÄS MER
