1. Investigation of Some Heat Transfer Surfaces for Gas Turbine Recuperators
Sammanfattning : A part of this thesis has been devoted to present general recuperator technology such as available gas turbine recuperator types, applications where recuperators are utilized, recuperator materials etc. An investigation of some compact and highly efficient heat transfer surfaces, for intended use in gas turbine recuperators, include the following surfaces: · Cross Wavy (CW) primary surface. 2. Guided Elastic Waves along Periodically Corrugated Structures
Sammanfattning : The present thesis consider time-harmonic surface and guided elastic waves propagating along periodically corrugated structures. The problems discussed deal with various configurations where the surfaces are sinusoidally - singly or doubly - periodic, and the interest is focused on investigating the roots of the dispersion relations and in particular the stopband and cross-over resonances. 3. Flow dynamics in corrugated pipes: Effect on particle agglomeration
Sammanfattning : In recent times, the deleterious impact of particulate emissions from road vehicles on the well-being of humans has garnered a significant amount ofattention. Regulatory bodies have enacted legislation in order to counter act particulate emissions. LÄS MER
4. Analysis of Dipole and Patch Antennas in Cylindrical Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the analysis of dipoles, patches, and aperture coupled patches located in an infinitely long cylindrical structure with arbitrary cross-section. The analysis exploits the two-dimensional nature of the structure by expanding all fields and currents in spatial harmonics along the cylinder axis, and solving the subsequent spectral two-dimensional problems by the moment method. 5. Design and Optimization of Wideband Hat-Fed Reflector Antenna with Radome for Satellite Earth Station
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the development of a hat-fed refector antenna with radome to be used as satellite earth station. The antenna with self supported feed is relatively compact, circular symmetric and with low cross polarization. To achieve optimum performance over the satellite Ku-band,covering 10.75-14. LÄS MER
