  1. 21. Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis applied to LWR neutronic and thermal-hydraulic calculations

    Författare :Augusto Hernandéz Solís; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sensitivity analysis; Nuclear best estimate codes; uncertainty analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The deterministic modeling of LWRs begins with the computation of energy‐collapsed and homogenizedmacroscopic cross‐sections by means of a lattice code. Once these parameters are functionalized as a functionof the reactor state variables and discretized in space, they are used as input variables by core simulators inorder to calculate the spatial distribution of the neutron flux and thus, the spatial distribution of the power. 2. 22. Solar receiver development for gas-turbine based solar dish systems

    Författare :Lukas Aichmayer; Björn Laumert; Konstantinos Kyprianidis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concentrating solar power; volumetric solar receiver; development; experimental evaluation; validation; Koncentrerad solkraft; volumetrisk solmottagare; utveckling; experimentell utvärdering; validering; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Small-scale concentrating solar power plants such as micro gas-turbine based solar dish systems have the potential to harness solar energy in an effective way and supply electricity to customers in remote areas. In such systems, the solar receiver transfers the power of concentrated solar radiation to the working fluid of the power conversion cycle. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Factors influencing emission fluxes and bacterial enrichment in sea spray aerosols : Insights from laboratory and field studies

    Författare :Julika Zinke; Matthew E. Salter; Paul Zieger; Rachel A. Foster; E. Douglas Nilsson; Patricia K. Quinn; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sea spray aerosols; eddy covariance fluxes; air-sea-exchange; bacteria; primary biological airborne particles; laboratory studies; field studies; Baltic Sea; North-Eastern Atlantic; Environmental Sciences; miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Sea spray aerosol (SSA) is one of the major natural aerosol sources and is produced when wave breaking entrains air into ocean surface water, which subsequently breaks up into bubbles. These bubbles rise to the surface and can scavenge biogenic material. LÄS MER

  4. 24. On some positive effects of swirling flow for the continuous cast mould billets

    Författare :Shavkat Kholmatov; Pär Jönsson; Simon Lille; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; swirling flow; round mould; divergent angle; aspect ratio; temperature distribution; velocity fluctuations; continuous casting of steel; mathematical modeling; CFD; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Continuous caster moulds are the last and most important stage in the steelmaking process, where inclusions can either be generated or removed. With increasing casting speed using conventional immersion nozzles critical problems, such as unstable bulk mould flow have been noticed. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Arctic Atmospheric Rivers : Eulerian and Lagrangian features, and trends over the last 40 years

    Författare :Cheng You; Michael Tjernström; Abhay Devasthale; Heikki Järvinen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arctic; Atmospheric river; Stratocumulus; Blocking; Turbulence; Longwave irradiance; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : Arctic Atmospheric rivers, termed ‘warm-and-moist intrusion’ (WaMAI) in this thesis, transporting heat and moisture into the Arctic from lower latitudes, is a key contributor to the amplified warming in the Arctic under global change (Arctic Amplification). However, the warming effect of WaMAIs and its transformation along the trajectories into high Arctic still remain unclear, as well as their relation with the large-scale atmospheric circulation.
