21. Avoiding the subject : A critical inquiry into contemporary theories of subjectivity
Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores certain recurrent problems in modern theories about the nature of thesubject. Taking examples from phenomenology, poststructuralism, neopragmatism and feminism, itargues that philosophical theorizing about subjectivity often assumes that the transition from thedescription of the models of meaning with which they work, to the description of the everyday practices of which they are models, can be achieved within the model. Sammanfattning : In this dissertation Transformation, as understood in South Africa, is investigated in the ‘Natal Museum’ and the ‘Msunduzi Museum Incorporating the Voortrekker Complex’ in terms of socio-political structures, the museum as a place, its collections and displays. I have emphasised the ethnographical perspective and analysed it by using key concepts such as new museology, time, space and place. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The goal of critical thinking in higher education is paradoxical, since it implies a form of education that both directs the student towards a pre-defined goal, and commands the student to be autonomous. 25. Perseverance without doctrine : Adorno, self-critique, and the ends of academic theology
Sammanfattning : The study approaches the question of the role and legitimacy of academic theology given a certain theoretical conception of the intellectual situation. From the perspective of a critical interpretation of some contemporary problems of theology, on the one hand, and some problematic aspects of secular thought, on the other, the study inquires into the notion of theology for a self-critical theoretical potential of general academic value.
