  1. 1. Contaminant transport by air infiltration from crawl space to occupant area: Numerical simulations and field measurements in Swedish schools

    Författare :Fredrik Domhagen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; crawl space; contaminants; infiltration model; monte carlo method; airtightness; air permeability;

    Sammanfattning : Some Swedish school buildings built in the 1960’s and 1970’s have indoor air quality problems. Many of these buildings have a crawl space from which contaminants are suspected to originate. The poor indoor air quality cause discomfort among pupils and teachers and a solution to the problem is not always found. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Critical Moisture Conditions for Mould Growth on Building Materials

    Författare :Pernilla Johansson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mould; critical moisture level; building material; relative humidity; mould resistance; crawl space; attic;

    Sammanfattning : Materials that are stored or used in damp climates may be subject to mould growth. However, all materials are not equally susceptible to mould growth. For each specific material, there is a critical moisture level. If this is exceeded, there is a risk that mould fungi will develop on the material. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Determination of the Critical Moisture Level for Mould Growth on Building Materials

    Författare :Pernilla Johansson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Crawl space; Fungus; Mould resistance; Wood; Building materials; Mould; Critical moisture level; Attic; Relative humidity; Cyclic conditions; Laboratory method;

    Sammanfattning : The susceptibility to mould growth varies between building materials. The factors that most affect mould growth, the relative humidity (RH) and temperature also vary in different parts of buildings. One way of preventing the growth of mould in buildings is therefore to choose building materials that can withstand the expected conditions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Influence of building envelope on indoor air quality: Field measurements, analysis, and method development related to indoor odors

    Författare :Fredrik Domhagen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; material emissions; VOC; odor; ventilation; indoor air quality;

    Sammanfattning : The ventilation system should provide occupants with fresh air while removing excess pollutants from the building. However, increasing ventilation may inadvertently draw more pollutants into the occupant area or prove ineffective in altering emission rates from building materials and furnishings. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Thermal Modeling of Walls, Foundations and Whole Buildings Using Dynamic Thermal Networks

    Författare :Eva-Lotta Wentzel; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; walls; weighting functions; Dynamic thermal networks; building; dynamic heat conduction; foundation; step-response functions;

    Sammanfattning : The modeling of the energy balance of buildings is a major task in building physics. A new theory called dynamic thermal networks is under development at the Building Physics Research Group at Chalmers. The calculations are based on step-response functions, and the problems are illustrated in so-called dynamic networks. LÄS MER
