  1. 1. Palladium-Catalysed Carbon–Carbon Coupling Reactions : Focusing on Microwave Heating, Low Catalyst Concentrations, Aqueous Conditions, Regioselectivity and Medicinal Chemistry Applications

    Författare :Riina K Arvela; Mats Larhed; Anders Hallberg; Michael G Organ; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Suzuki coupling; Heck reaction; palladium; microwave heating; water; vinyl ethregioselective; HIV-1 integrase inhibitor; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; farmaceutisk biokemi; Pharmaceutical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : It is widely accepted that palladium is one of the most useful catalysts in organic chemistry, and many palladium(0)-catalysed carbon–carbon bond-forming reactions have been developed over the years. In addition, the ever-growing need for more environmentally benign processes in the chemical industry has driven scientists to look for greener options while developing new methodologies for organic synthesis. Författare :Baolin Guo; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Patric Jannasch; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Poly lactide ; poly ε-caprolactone ; ring-opening polymerization; carboxyl-capped aniline trimer; carboxyl-capped aniline pentamer; phenyl amino-capped aniline tetramer; coupling reaction; DCC DMAP system; degradability; electroactivity; conductivity; macromolecular architecture; chitosan; hydrogel; block copolymer; functionalization; oxidative coupling reaction; self-assembly; toxicity; tubular porous scaffold; neural tissue engineering.;

    Sammanfattning : Electrically conducting polymers induce specific cellular responses at the molecular level. One of the crucial limitations of the use of conducting polymers in tissue engineering is their inability to degrade. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Iron catalyzed C-C coupling reactions - mechanistic investigations

    Författare :Anna Hedström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; iron; homogenous catalysis; cross coupling; C-C bond formation; reaction mechanisms; kinetic investigations; competitive Hammett study; density functional theory;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanism of the iron catalyzed cross coupling of aryl electrophiles with alkyl Grignard reagents was studied. The reaction proceeds via a rate-limiting oxidative addition of the aryl halide to an Fe(I) complex generated in situ. A transmetalation from an aryl Grignard reagent occurs either before or after the oxidative addition. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Strong light-matter coupling: from traditional to cavity-free polaritons

    Författare :Adriana Canales Ramos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mie modes; cavity-free polaritons; Lorentz resonances; Polaritonic states; 2D-atomic crystals; ultrastrong coupling; strong coupling; Fabry-Pérot modes;

    Sammanfattning : Polaritons are formed when light and matter interact strongly. For this to occur, photons and transitions in a material must exchange energy faster than the dissipation rate of the interacting components. Polaritons have shown the ability to change such material properties as photophysics, chemical reaction rates, transport, etc. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Carboligation using the aldol reaction : A comparison of stereoselectivity and methods

    Författare :Derar Al-Smadi; Mikael Widersten; Ulf Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aldol reaction; cinchonine; FSA enzyme; homologation reactions; phenylacetaldehyde derivatives; samarium diiodide.;

    Sammanfattning : The research summarized in this thesis focuses on synthesizing aldehyde and aldol compounds as substrates and products for the enzyme D-fructose-6-aldolase (FSA). Aldolases are important enzymes for the formation of carbon-carbon bonds in nature. LÄS MER
