  1. 1. Thin-Film Coated Steel Foils as Interconnects for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC)

    Författare :Rakshith Nugehalli Sachitanand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Interconnect; Fuel Cell; Energy; SOFC; Steel; Corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are electrochemical energy conversion devices that have the potential to achieve high efficiencies while using a broad range of fuels. The advancement of the technology has however been hindered by a number of technical and economic barriers, one of which is the durability and cost of the bipolar plate or interconnect that connects individual cells in series to form a so-called ‘stack’. 2. 2. High temperature corrosion in a biomass-fired power boiler : Reducing furnace wall corrosion in a waste wood-fired power plant with advanced steam data

    Författare :Yousef Alipour; Pamela Henderson; Peter Szalalos; Christofer Leygraf; Jan Froitzheim; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High temperature corrosion; Waterwalls; Power plant corrosion; NOx reducing enviroments; Biomass; Waste wood; Thermodynamic calculation modelling; corrosion-resistance alloy; Furnace wall corrosion; Högtemperaturekorrosion; Eldstadsväggar; kraftverks korrosion; låg Nox mijöer; biomassa; returträ; Termodynamisk modellering; korrosionsbeständighet legering; eldstadskorrosion;

    Sammanfattning : The use of waste (or recycled) wood as a fuel in heat and power stations is becoming more widespread in Sweden (and Europe), because it is CO2 neutral with a lower cost than forest fuel. However, it is a heterogeneous fuel with a high amount of chlorine, alkali and heavy metals which causes more corrosion than fossil fuels or forest fuel. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Degradation Mechanisms of Heat Resistant Steel at Elevated Temperatures : In an Iron Ore Pelletizing Industry

    Författare :Erik A. A. Nilsson; Marta-Lena Antti; Ragnar Tegman; Jan-Erik Svensson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stainless steel; Grate-Kiln; microstructure; corrosion; as-casted; thermal cycling; erosion; deposition; Engineering Materials; Materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the different degradation mechanisms of the stainless steel in a travelling grate in a Grate-Kiln iron ore pellet indurator. The travelling grate is a conveyor belt that transports green-body pellets to a rotary kiln while the pellets are being dried and pre-heated to a temperature of 900-1100 °C by recycled hot air. 4. 4. High Temperature Corrosion Behavior in Biomass- and Waste-Fired Boilers - Insights into catastrophic corrosion and corrosion mitigation techniques

    Författare :Julien Phother Simon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 3D tomography; TEM; Sulfur Recirculation; Waste; High-temperature corrosion; Biomass; Coatings; Stainless steel; Ni-based alloys; Deposits; KCl-induced corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide is contributing to the greenhouse effect and a significant part comes from the use of fossil fuels. Utilizing more renewable fuels is therefore a solution to decrease the net release of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Use of localised techniques to elucidate the influence of process variables on the corrosion of stainless steels

    Författare :Nuria Fuertes; Rachel Pettersson; Inger Odnevall; Stuart Lyon; KTH; []
