1. Correlated materials : models and methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis encompass a series of studies on methods and models for electron systems with local interactions, relevant for correlated materials. The first study focus on the canonical model for local correlation, the Hubbard model. LÄS MER
2. Multipoles in Correlated Electron Materials
Sammanfattning : Electronic structure calculations constitute a valuable tool to predict the properties of materials. In this study we propose an efficient scheme to study correlated electron systems with essentially only one free parameter, the screening length of the Coulomb potential. LÄS MER
3. Strongly Correlated Moiré Materials
Sammanfattning : Recent advances in materials science have established Moiré materials as a new highly tunable and versatile form of quantum matter. When two dimensional atomic layers are brought into proximity, a tiny relative twist or a slight lattice mismatch produces Moiré patterns manifested in a superlattice structure with a lattice constant that is much larger than the lattice constants of the constituent layers. 4. Correlated Electronic Structure of Materials : Development and Application of Dynamical Mean Field Theory
Sammanfattning : This thesis is dedicated to the development, implementation and application of a combination of Density Functional Theory and Dynamical Mean Field Theory. The resulting program is shown through several examples to be a powerful and flexible tool for calculating the electronic structure of strongly correlated materials. LÄS MER
5. Correlation Effects in One-dimensional Electron Systems
Sammanfattning : Theoretical studies suggest that an interacting one-dimensional electron system does not behave as a Fermi liquid. Instead, it is predicted to form a Luttinger liquid characterized e.g. by the absence of fermionic quasiparticles and interaction-dependent power-laws for transport quantities. LÄS MER
