  1. 6. Conduits in coronary artery bypass grafting surgery : Saphenous vein, radial and internal thoracic arteries

    Författare :Mats Dreifaldt; Domingos Souza; Lars Norgren; Mats G. Karlsson; Michael R. Dashwood; Anders Jeppson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiac surgery; Coronary artery bypass; Saphenous vein; Radial artery; Internal thoracic artery; Vasa vasorum; Nitric oxide; Graft patency; Medicine; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : A novel technique for saphenous vein (SV) graft harvesting, the No-touch technique (NT), has been developed at the Dept. of Cardiovascular surgery, Örebro University hospital. With NT the SV is harvested with a pedicle of surrounding tissue. This avoids graft spasm and eliminates the need for distension. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Computer-Assisted  Coronary  CT  Angiography  Analysis : From  Software  Development  to  Clinical  Application

    Författare :Chunliang Wang; Örjan Smedby; Anders Persson; Hans Frimmel; Evert-jan Vonken; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vessel segmentation; coronary CTA; fuzzy connectedness; level set; coronary artery disease; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : Advances in coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) have resulted in a boost in the use of this new technique in recent years, creating a challenge for radiologists due to the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing, and to evaluate the performance in clinical settings. 3. 8. Computed tomography of the coronary arteries

    Författare :Jonaz Ripsweden; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Non-invasive coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) has become an important tool for visualisation of coronary arteries since the introduction of 64-channel detector CCTA in 2004. It has been proved to be especially beneficial for ruling out coronary artery disease (CAD) in selected patient populations, due to the high negative predictive value (NPV). LÄS MER

  4. 9. Computed Tomography of the Coronary Arteries : Developmental and Prognostic Investigations

    Författare :Mårten Sandstedt; Anders Persson; Joakim Alfredsson; Magnus Janzon; Jan Engvall; Mats Lidén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Computed tomography (CT) is an increasingly used modality for investigations of patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Technical advances could improve diagnostic accuracy and lead to clinical workflow improvements. Also, more prognostic information can optimize clinical follow-up strategies and treatments. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Endothelin and angiotensin II receptors in human coronary arteries and bypass grafts - Alterations in cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Angelica Wackenfors; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; vasoconstriction; receptors; cardiovascular disease; human; coronary arteries;

    Sammanfattning : Angiotensin II (Ang II) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) induce strong vasoconstriction via activation of receptors on vascular smooth muscle cells. In this thesis, the contractile Ang II and endothelin receptors were examined in endothelium-denuded human coronary arteries and in bypass grafts (the left internal mammary artery and the saphenous vein), with focus on receptor alterations in cardiovascular disease.
