  1. 1. Corneal transplant outcome- a Swedish register

    Författare :Margareta Claesson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Corneal transplantation; Quality register; Long term follow up; Astigmatism; Bullous keratopathy; Graft survival; Visual outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Aim. The aim of this study was to present different aspects of the outcome after corneal transplantation based on data from the Swedish Cornea Register. Papers. The first paper describes the register and gives descriptive statistics and analysis of data from a two-year follow up, while the last paper presents data from a ten-year follow up. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Inflammatory response after cataract surgery : randomized controlled clinical and laboratory studies of different surgical techniques

    Författare :Carl-Gustaf Laurell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cataract extraction; phacoemulsification; inflammation; blood-aqueousbarrier; anti-inflammatory agents; heparin surface modified intraocular lens; fluorophotometry; prostaglandins; after-cataract; corneal oedema; lasers; comparative study; randomize;

    Sammanfattning : During the last few years the phacoemulsification technique for cataract extraction has improved considerably. Because of this development phacoemulsification has recently superseded extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) as the preferred method. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Safety and efficacy of intracameral mydriatics in cataract surgery

    Författare :Björn Lundberg; Anders Behndig; Charlotta Zetterström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Ophtalmology; intracameral; mydriatics; pupil; cataract; phacoemulsification; lidocaine; phenylephrine; cyclopentolate; epinephrine; endothelial cell loss; Oftalmiatrik; oftalmiatrik; Ophtalmology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: In order to perform cataract surgery, adequate dilatation of the pupil is essential. This is traditionally achieved by preoperative topical mydriatic eye-drops, commonly cyclopentolate and phenylephrine. This routine has several disadvantages. First, the slow penetration through the cornea delays the onset of mydriasis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dimethylethylamine and dimethylbenzylamine in foundries and the epoxy industry : Analysis, metabolism, biological monitoring, toxicological effects and occupational exposure

    Författare :Bengt Ståhlbom; Christer Edling; Östergötlands Läns Landsting; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Dimethylethylamine (DMEA) and dimethylbenzylamine (DMBA) are tertiary aliphatic amines, used as catalysts e.g., in mould core manufacturing and heat cured epoxy systems. Health effects such as visual disturbances and respiratory irritation occur among workers handling DMEA and airway symptoms are recorded by many workers exposed to DMBA. LÄS MER
