  1. 1. Synthesis and Characterization of Sec-Packings Based on Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate

    Författare :Andrea Schmid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bulk polymerization; N; hydrophilic gels; separation; methyl methacrylate; hydrophobic networks; acrylamide; porous networks; Suspension; N -methylene-bis-acrylamide; chemically crosslinked networks; dry gels; polysaccharide standards; distilled water; copolymerization; trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate;

    Sammanfattning : Suspension and bulk polymerization of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) and copolymerization of TRIM with methyl methacrylate (MMA) resulted in porous, hydrophobic, and chemically crosslinked networks. Copolymerization of TRIM with acrylamide (AA) and with N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide (bis-AA) resulted in hydrophilic gels. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Functional Copolymers of Polyvinylpyrrolidone

    Författare :Jonas Engström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; suspension polymerization; functional monomers; 1-vinylpyrrolidin-2-one; copolymerization; swelling; crosslinking; solid-phase synthesis; drug delivery vehicles.; phase-selective solubility; beads; Polyvinylpyrrolidone;

    Sammanfattning : In many ways, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) has a unique combination of chemical and physical properties. Unlike most polymers it is soluble in water as well as a number of organic solvents. PVP also has excellent film forming properties, outstanding chemical stability, complexing ability, low toxicity, and good adherence to many different substrates. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring bio-based and biodegradable polymers: free-radical polymerization, hydrolysis and applications

    Författare :Maryam Mousa; Eva Malmström; Magnus Jonsson; Anna Larsson Kron; Seema Agarwal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bio-based polymers; biodegradation; branched polyesters; thermally expandable microspheres; copolymerization; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing concerns regarding the depletion of fossil-based resources and theaccumulation of plastic waste in the environment have resulted in extensiveresearch aimed at finding more sustainable alternatives to today’s plastics.In this work, bio-based and biodegradable polymers have been synthesizedusing free-radical polymerization in homogeneous and heterogeneoussystems. 4. 4. Amphiphilic Graft Copolymer Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Polymer Batteries. - Preparation and Characterisation

    Författare :Patrik Gavelin; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemical technology and engineering; transport dynamics; ion conductivity; solid polymer electrolyte; gel electrolyte; macromonomer copolymerization; amphiphilic graft copolymer;

    Sammanfattning : In the present work amphiphilic graft copolymers were prepared by free radical copolymerization of macromonomers in solution. The graft copolymers consisted of methacrylate backbones bearing ethylene oxide (EO)n side chains of varying length as ionophilic groups, and fluorocarbon (CF2)6 side chains or hydrocarbon groups as ionophobic groups. 5. 5. Improved mechanical properties of a polar polythiophene through copolymerization or blending with urethanes

    Författare :Sepideh Zokaei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; conductive fibers; polar conjugated polymers; mechanical properties;

    Sammanfattning : Polar polythiophenes with oligoethylene glycol side chains are a developing class of materials that are great candidates for energy harvesting and storage as well as bioelectronics. The polar side chains enhance the compatibility with molecular dopants and improve the electrical conductivity and thermal stability of the doped material. LÄS MER
