1. Managers' Cooperative Work Practices in Computational Artefacts-Supported Library Systems
Sammanfattning : The dissertation presents understandings of the complex, contextual, cooperative everyday work practices of academic library managers supported by computational artefacts, as well as challenges disrupting their practices and thereby computational artefacts usage. The doctoral research approaches and conceptualises managers’ work as ‘everyday cooperative practice’, in this way adopting the computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) approach. LÄS MER
2. Performance evaluation of safety critical ITS-G5 V2V communications for cooperative driving applications
Sammanfattning : Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) are aiming to provide innovative services related to different modes of transport and traffic management, and enable various users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated and smarter use of transport networks. Cooperative-ITS (C-ITS) support connectivity between vehicles, vehicles and roadside infrastructure, traffic signals as well as with other road users. LÄS MER
3. Communication and Positioning Uncertainties in Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems
Sammanfattning : The current road transport system has problems with both safety and efficiency. Future intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are envisioned to alleviate these problems. In particular, cooperative ITS, where vehicles are connected to each other and the cloud, will allow vehicles to collaborate and share both sensor and control information. LÄS MER
4. Cooperative Context-Aware Setup and Performance of Surveillance Missions Using Static and Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks
Sammanfattning : Surveillance systems are usually employed to monitor wide areas in which their usersaim to detect and/or observe events or phenomena of their interest. The use ofwireless sensor networks in such systems is of particular interest as these networks can provide a relative low cost and robust solution to cover large areas. LÄS MER
5. Striking a balance : Managing collaborative multitasking in computer-supported cooperation
Sammanfattning : This thesis is a collection of six papers and a cover paper reporting an exploration of how to strike a balance between individual task execution and work articulation in Computer-supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). The interest in this theme is motivated by an increased reliance of IT-supported cooperative work arrangements in modern organizations, the fragmented layout of work for multitasking individuals and reports on various forms of overload, increased level of stress and anxiety experienced by workers active in these organizations.
