1. Interaction between Electromagnetic Waves and Localized Plasma Oscillations
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats interaction between electromagnetic waves and localized plasma oscillations. Two specific physical systems are considered, namely artificially excited magnetic field-aligned irregularities (striations) and naturally excited lower hybrid solitary structures (LHSS). LÄS MER
2. Analyses of Seismic Wave Conversion in the Crust and Upper Mantle beneath the Baltic Shield
Sammanfattning : Teleseismic data recorded by broad-band seismic stations in the Swedish National Seismic Network (SNSN) have been used in a suite of studies of seismic wave conversion in order to assess the structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath the Baltic Shield. Signals of seismic waves converted between P and S at seismic discontinuities within the Earth carry information on the velocity contrast at the converting interface, on the depth of conversion and on P and S velocities above this depth. 3. Acoustic Platform for MXene Synthesis and Electrochemical Behaviour of i-MXenes in Aqueous Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Climate Change is believed to be the greatest global challenge and on its forefront is the topic of energy. While being of extreme importance, debates over energy have become a normality. LÄS MER
4. Hydrodynamic Modelling of Wave Power using Electrical Equivalent Circuit Theory
Sammanfattning : Ocean wave energy can be harnessed and converted into electric energy nowadays. This provides a possibility for populations that live on islands or along coastlines to utilize the renewable and safe power produced by ocean waves. LÄS MER
5. Numerical Modelling and Mechanical Studies on a Point Absorber Type Wave Energy Converter
Sammanfattning : Oceans cover two thirds of the Earth’s surface and the energy potential of ocean waves as a renewable energy source is huge. It would therefore be a tremendous achievement if the vast mechanical energy in waves was converted into a form of energy that could be used successfully by society. LÄS MER
