21. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Sammanfattning : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. LÄS MER
22. Aspects of lung mechanics during mechanical ventilation
Sammanfattning : Background: One of the most common diagnoses in the intensive care unit is acute respiratory failure. In its most severe form it is called acute respiratory distress syndrome and often requires mechanical ventilation. LÄS MER
23. Protein S-100, inflammatory and haemostatic mediators in paediatric open heart surgery. Influence of clinical variables and a biocompatible cardiopulmonary bypass system
Sammanfattning : Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is used in most operations when correcting congenital heart malformations. Postoperative neurological problems (temporary or permanent) are complications of the procedure. These neurological injuries, especially if they are minor, are difficult to recognise in small children. LÄS MER
24. Gas exchange with a reflecting system for inhalational anaesthesia
Sammanfattning : In order to reduce comsumption of inhalational anaesthetsics during high flow anaesthesia a system open in regard to oxygen, nitogen and nitrous oxide, but closed to inhalational anaesthetics, was developed. This was achieved by a reflecting filter for inhalational anaesthetics made of active carbon. LÄS MER
25. New modes of improving ventilation and oxygenation in pulmonary hypertension and acute respiratory failure in newborns and children
Sammanfattning : Pulmonary hypertension leading to hypoxemia is a potentially life-threatening condition in pediatric intensive care. Hypoxemia may also result from conditions not primarily related to pulmonary hypertension. LÄS MER
