  1. 11. Controlling the Reactivity and Selectivity in Iridium- and Rhodium-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation

    Författare :Haibo Wu; Pher Andersson; Virginie Ratovelomanana-Vidal; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Cascade reaction; Kinetic resolution; Desymmetrization; Dearomatization; Total synthesis; Heterogeneous catalysis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is mainly focused on the development of iridium- or rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation featuring a number of practical concepts including cascade reaction, kinetic resolution, desymmetrization, and dearomatization. The protocols rely on gaining control of the reactivity among different olefins or olefin precursor as well as maintaining chemo- and stereo-selectivity in the hydrogenation. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Structure and Phase Stability of CaC2 Polymorphs, Li2C2 and Lithium Intercalated Graphite : A Revisit with High Pressure Experiments and Metal Hydride–Graphite Reactions

    Författare :Sumit Konar; Ulrich Häussermann; Gunnar Svensson; Arnold Guloy; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; acetylide carbides; high pressure; Raman spectroscopy; powder X-ray diffraction; Rietveld refinement; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Alkali (A) and alkaline earth (AE) metals can form carbides and intercalated graphites with carbon. The carbides mostly represent acetylides which are salt-like compounds composed of C22− dumbbell anions and metal cations. Both the acetylide carbides and intercalated graphites are technologically important. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Investigating volume change and ion transport in conjugated polymers

    Författare :Johannes Gladisch; Daniel Simon; Qibing Pei; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Volume changes are the foundation for a wide range of phenomena and applications, ranging from the movement of plants to valves and drug delivery devices. Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that controlled volume changes are an interesting topic of research. In this thesis, volume changes in polymers are the object of investigation. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Interpolymer complexation of a polymer brush

    Författare :John Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; functional materials; macromolecular gating; Interpolymer complex; nanopores; polymer brush; pH responsive;

    Sammanfattning : Controllable macromolecular gating between nanoscopic compartments is of high interest for single molecule studies of biological macromolecules. By definition, a good macromolecular gate should completely stop biomolecules, such as proteins, from crossing between compartments in its closed state while letting them pass in its open state. Författare :Lidija Glavas; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Karin Odelius; Matthew Becker; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Self-assembly; micelles; core crystallinity; cyclic polypeptides; electroactivity; redox-responsiveness; triggered dissociation; loading; release; N-carboxyanhydride polymerization; polyesters; poly ε-decalactone ; Självorganisation; miceller; kärnkristallinitet; cykliska polypeptider; elektroaktivitet; tidsberoende dissociation; inkapsling; frisläppning; N-karboxyanhydrid polymerisation; polyestrar; poly ε-dekalakton ; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Advancements in drug delivery have enabled a wider array of prevention, control and treatment of diseases such as cancer. Drug delivery systems have the possibility of encapsulating drugs with low solubility, delivering them to specific locations in the body as well as obtaining a controlled and sustained drug release.
