  1. 1. Interaction Analysis in Multivariable Control Systems : Applications to Bioreactors for Nitrogen Removal

    Författare :Björn Halvarsson; Bengt Carlsson; Elling Jacobsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; activated sludge process; biological nitrogen removal; bioreactor models; control structure design; cost-efficient operation; decentralized control; interaction measures; minimum variance control; multivariable control; wastewater treatment; Automatic control; Reglerteknik; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : Many control systems of practical importance are multivariable. In such systems, each manipulated variable (input signal) may affect several controlled variables (output signals) causing interaction between the input/output loops. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Look-ahead Control of Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Erik Hellström; Lars Nielsen; Jan Åslund; Lino Guzzella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive control; dynamic programming; predictive control; fuel-optimal control; long haulage truck; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Trucks are responsible for the major part of inland freight and so, they are a backbone of the modern economy but they are also a large consumer of energy. In this context, a dominating vehicle is a truck with heavy load on a long trip. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development and evaluation of methods for control of multiple-input multiple output systems

    Författare :Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hold-input; Unreliable communication links; Decentralized control; MIMO systems.; Delays; LQG control; Input-output scaling; Control configuration selection; Gramian based measures;

    Sammanfattning : In control, the most common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 5. 5. Physiotherapeutic perspectives on balance control after stroke : exercises, experiences and measures

    Författare :Mialinn Arvidsson Lindvall; Anette Forsberg; Agneta Anderzén Carlsson; Peter Appelros; Charlotte Ytterberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stroke; balance; physiotherapy; measures; experiences;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate physiotherapeutic perspectives on balance after stroke, in terms of exercises, experiences and measurements. Study I was a pilot randomized controlled trial with 46 persons who had had a stroke, 24 of whom were included in the intervention group and 22 who were included in the control group. LÄS MER
