1. Look-ahead Control of Heavy Vehicles
Sammanfattning : Trucks are responsible for the major part of inland freight and so, they are a backbone of the modern economy but they are also a large consumer of energy. In this context, a dominating vehicle is a truck with heavy load on a long trip. LÄS MER
2. Data-Rich Multivariable Control of Heavy-Duty Engines
Sammanfattning : The combustion engine is today the dominant technology for transportation of goods and people world-wide. Concerns for global warming, toxic exhaust emissions, as well as cost and availability of fuel have in recent years created incentives for technological evolution of combustion engines. LÄS MER
3. Backstepping and control allocation with applications to flight control
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study a number of nonlinear control problems motivated by their appearance in flight control. The results are presented in a general framework and can also be applied to other areas. The two main topics are backstepping and control allocation. LÄS MER
4. Human–Robot Interaction Based on Motion and Force Control
Sammanfattning : Industrial robots typically require detailed programming and carefully configured work cells to perform well. The large engineering effort implicates high cost and long preparation time, and this is the major obstruction when mediating tasks to robots. The research in this thesis therefore aims to make robot programming faster and more accessible. LÄS MER
5. Predictive Control of Hybrid Electric Vehicles on Prescribed Routes
Sammanfattning : At the highest level in the powertrain control system in a hybrid electric vehicle an energy management controller interprets the driver’s pedal actions as a torque that is to be delivered at the powertrain output. The energy management controller distributes this torque between the engine and the electric machines and decides when to change gear and when to turn off the engine for pure electric propulsion.
