1. Field Programmable Gate Arrays and Reconfigurable Computing in Automatic Control
Sammanfattning : New combustion engine principles increase the demands on feedback combustion control, at the same time economical considerations currently enforce the usage of low-end control hardware limiting implementation possibilities. Significant development is simultaneously and continuously carried out within the field of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). LÄS MER
2. Devices. On Hospitality, Hostility and Design
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies and speculates upon the interrelations of artefacts with human and nonhuman agents. These interrelations form assemblages, some of which have emergent properties, becoming manifestations of processes that we cannot fully control or understand. LÄS MER
3. Relay Feedback and Multivariable Control
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis treats three issues in control engineering related to relay feedback and multivariable control systems. Linear systems with relay feedback is the first topic. Such systems are shown to exhibit several interesting behaviors. LÄS MER
4. Design for Perception - A human-centric approach to the design of driving automation systems based on the driver’s perception
Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is rapidly developing driving automation systems (DAS) with the aim of supporting drivers by means of the automation of longitudinal and lateral vehicle control. As vehicle complexity increases and update-over-the-air features are enabling continuous development of vehicle software and functionality, the driver’s understanding of their responsibility and their vehicle’s capabilities and limitations is becoming significantly more important. 5. Ammonium Feedback Control in Wastewater Treatment Plants
Sammanfattning : The aeration process is often the single largest consumer of electricity in a wastewater treatment plant. Aeration in biological reactors provides microorganisms with oxygen which is required to convert ammonium to nitrate. Ammonium is toxic for aqueous ecosystems and contributes to eutrophication.
