  1. 1. Evaluation of absorbed dose and image quality in mammography

    Författare :Bengt Hemdal; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; optically stimulated luminescence; radioluminescence; in vivo dosimetry; dose reduction; dose protocol; average glandular dose; absorbed dose; Breast cancer; mammography; Monte Carlo; image quality; image quality criteria; contrast-detail phantom;

    Sammanfattning : Mammography refers to the X-ray examination of the human breast, and is considered the single most important diagnostic tool in the early detection of breast cancer, which is by far the most common cancer among women. There is good evidence from clinical trials, that mammographic screening can reduce the breast cancer mortality with about 30%. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Aspects on Image Quality in Radiologic Evaluation of the Urinary Tract

    Författare :Margareta Lundin; Anders Persson; Torbjörn Andersson; Håkan Geijer; Anders Magnuson; Jan Persliden; Anders Magnusson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this document is on image quality as one of the factors fundamental for the diagnostic process. With the rising number of procedures and the trend towards more complicated examinations, urinary tract investigations was chosen in this work as a good clinical model for evaluation of the factors influencing image quality and of the ways of evaluating image quality. 3. 3. Radiation dose and image quality in diagnostic radiology : optimization of the dose - image quality relationship with clinical experience from scoliosis radiography, coronary intervention and a flat-panel digital detector

    Författare :Håkan Geijer; Hans Ringertz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Det är känt att röntgenstrålning kan orsaka cancersjukdomar, hudskador och andra sidoeffekter. Därför är det viktigt och även föreskrivet i lag att strålexpaneringen inom diagnostisk radiologi skall sänkas så långt som möjligt. Detta kallas på engelska ALARA-principen (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Optimisation of radiographic imaging by means of factorial experiments

    Författare :Eva Norrman; Jan Persliden; Andreas Oberstedt; Bertil Axelsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : In the optimisation process of radiographic imaging, factorial designed experiments can be applied. The parameters (factors) are varied together instead of one at a time, making it possible to discover interactions between the factors as well as main influences of them on the result variable.
