  1. 16. Contact Space: Shanghai : The Chinese Dream and the Production of a New Society

    Författare :Johan Vaide; Sociologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Shanghai; China; the People’s Republic of China PRC ; the Chinese Communist Party CCP ; political rhetoric; production of space; spatial theory; urban planning; global cities; Henri Lefebvre; postcolonial studies; nation-building; intercultural communication; Chinese middle-classes;

    Sammanfattning : Within the context of understanding the opening up of the People’s Republic of China and the city of Shanghai, the aim of the study is to explore ‘space’ in Chinese Communist Party rhetoric, Shanghai spatial planning discourse and personal intercultural engagements. By the term ‘space’, the author refers to an understanding of societal production that integrates space as part of the analysis, taking into account the interplay between official statements on nation building, regional and urban planning, concrete built environments and people’s situated understandings of space. 2. 17. Frictional Effects on Hertzian Contact and Fracture

    Författare :Denis Jelagin; Per-Lennart Larsson; Bertil Storåkers; David Hills; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Contact mechanics; Elastic material; Friction; Nanoindentation; Fracture; Solid mechanics; Fastkroppsmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses normal axisymmetric contact of dissimilar elastic solids at finite interfacial friction. It is shown that in the case of smooth and convex but otherwise arbitrary contact profiles and monotonically increasing loading a single stick-slip contour evolves being independent of loading and profile geometry. 3. 18. Solution to boundary-contact problems of elasticity in mathematical models of the printing-plate contact system for flexographic printing

    Författare :Nikolai Kotik; Yury Shestopalov; Stig Larsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; boundary-contact problem; elasticity; integral equation; approximate decomposition; Applied mathematics; Tillämpad matematik; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : Boundary-contact problems (BCPs) are studied within the frames ofclassical mathematical theory of elasticity and plasticityelaborated by Landau, Kupradze, Timoshenko, Goodier, Fichera andmany others on the basis of analysis of two- and three-dimensionalboundary value problems for linear partial differential equations.A great attention is traditionally paid both to theoreticalinvestigations using variational methods and boundary singularintegral equations (Muskhelishvili) and construction of solutionsin the form that admit efficient numerical evaluation (Kupradze). 4. 19. Surgeries on Legendrian Submanifolds

    Författare :Georgios Dimitroglou Rizell; Tobias Ekholm; Frédéric Bourgeois; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Contact manifolds; Legendrian submanifolds; Legendrian contact homology; Augmentations; Exact Lagrangian cobordisms; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of a summary of two papers dealing with questions related to Legendrian submanifolds of contact manifolds together with exact Lagrangian cobordisms between Legendrian submanifolds. The focus is on studying Legendrian submanifolds from the perspective of their handle decompositions. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Dynamic Train-Turnout Interaction – Mathematical Modelling, Numerical Simulation and Field Testing

    Författare :Elias Kassa; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; contact forces; Karhunen–Loève expansion; dynamic train–turnout interaction; field test; wheel–rail contact geometry; stochastic analysis; switches and crossings; SRA - Transport;

    Sammanfattning : Two models for simulation of dynamic interaction between train and turnout are developed. The first one is derived using a commercial software for dynamics of multi-body systems. LÄS MER
