  1. 1. Surgical complications after vaginal and caesarean delivery

    Författare :Charlotta Larsson; Pär Nordin; Ewa Lundgren; Katarina Tunón; Peter Mathiessen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgical complications; cardiovascular complications; anal incontinence; anal sphincter injuries; caesarean section; vaginal delivery; three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) after vaginal delivery are the most common cause of anal incontinence in women. Symptoms range from faecal urgency and soiling to inability to control flatus and passive faecal incontinence. 2. 2. Popliteal Artery Aneurysms : - epidemiology, treatment and results

    Författare :Anne Cervin; Martin Björck; Mårten Falkenberg; Hans Ravn; Michelle Antonello; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Popliteal artery aneurysms; Endovascular; Open surgery; Outcome; Occlusion; Screening; Prevalence; Rupture; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Popliteal aneurysms (PA) are limb threatening, since the aneurysm thrombose and emboli from the aneurysm sac occlude the distal vessels, resulting in chronic or acute limb ischaemia. Open surgical repair (OSR) has been challenged by endovascular repair (ER), a minimal invasive technique. LÄS MER

  3. 3. To tear and to heal : pelvic floor dysfunction and childbirth

    Författare :Malin Huber; Katarina Tunón; Pär Nordin; Karin Strigård; Maria Lindqvist; Kjell Å. Salvesen; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Up to 80% of women are affected by a perineal laceration after their first vaginal birth. An estimated 40–50% of lacerations involve the perineal muscles, and up to 7% are obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASI). LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Influence of Climate and Public Health Interventions on Aedes Vectors and Dengue in Sri Lanka

    Författare :Prasad Liyanage; Joacim Rocklöv; Yesim Tozan; Hasitha Tissera; Flemming Konradsen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dengue; weather; climate; El Niño; Aedes vector indices; human mobility; vector control; cost-effectiveness analysis; Sri Lanka; Kalutara.;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Dengue, a viral infection transmitted by Aedes mosquitos, flourishes in urban tropical environments by a complex process. Interactions among susceptible humans, dengue viruses, and Aedes mosquitoes determine dengue transmission patterns, and these interactions are modified by driving factors related to weather, the environment, and human behaviour, including mobility. 5. 5. Screening for Atherosclerosis with Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Ultrasound

    Författare :Christina Lundberg; Lars Johansson; Håkan Ahlström; Lars Lind; Anders Wanhainen; Hansen Tomas; Kenneth Caidahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;
