  1. 1. Constitutive Behaviour and Fracture of Adhesive Layers : Inverse Methods and Energetic Balance

    Författare :Svante Alfredsson; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; adhesive layer; constitutive behaviour; fracture; energy release rate; shear fracture; mode-mixity; experimental method; inverse solution; multi-material joints; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Teknik; Technology;

    Sammanfattning : In the automobile industry, current demands on reduced emissions with maintained or even increased crash worthiness, forces the industry to seek weight-reducing designs. The possibility to use lightweight materials is obviously attractive. At joints, these lightweight materials have to be connected to high-strength or low-cost materials. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fatigue life prediction of additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloys : Constitutive and crack initiation modelling

    Författare :Thomas Lindström; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Robert Eriksson; Magnus Ekh; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive manufacturing; Low-cycle fatigue; Thermomechanical fatigue; Constitutive modelling; Anisotropy;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation was produced at the Division of Solid Mechanics at Linköping University, and is the final result of a project that included mechanical testing and modelling of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy.The main objective of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate and model the cyclic behaviour and the fatigue life behaviour of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy, with emphasis on modelling the stabilised material behaviour, by which fatigue life predictions can be based upon. 3. 3. Cemented Carbide Sintering : Constitutive Relations and Microstructural Evolution

    Författare :Anders Petersson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cemented carbides; Sintering; Constitutive relations; Microstructure; Densification; Modelling;

    Sammanfattning : Cemented carbides based on tungsten carbide and cobalt arecommonly produced by a powder metallurgy route including liquidphase sintering. The pressed compact densifies to almost halfits volume during sintering due to pore elimination. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modelling and simulation of plastic deformation on small scales : interface conditions and size effects of thin films

    Författare :Per Fredriksson; Peter Gudmundson; Christian Niordson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strain gradient plasticity; Size effects; Thin films; Interface; Finite element method; Dislocations; Constitutive behaviour; Hardening behaviour; Indentation; Contact mechanics; Metal matrix composites; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Contrary to elastic deformation, plastic deformation of crystalline materials, such as metals, is size-dependent. Most commonly, this phenomenon is present but unnoticed, such as the effect of microstructural length scales. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Deformation and Fatigue Behaviour of Aluminium Alloys for High Specific Power IC Engine Applications

    Författare :Elanghovan Natesan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cylinder head; aluminium; constitutive models; thermo-mechanical fatigue; fatigue; ageing; mechanical behaviour; A356;

    Sammanfattning : The development towards higher specific power and lower displacement engines in recent years has placed increasingly high thermal loads on the internal combustion engine materials. Further, the advent of hybrid power trains placing higher demands on quick starts and a rapid approach to maximum power necessitates the automotive industry to move towards a more robust computational thermo-mechanical fatigue life prediction methodology to develop reliable engines and reduce developmental costs.
