  1. 1. Swedish seagrass ecosystems in a changing climate : Coastal connectivity and global change sensitivity

    Författare :Diana Perry; Martin Gullström; Jason Hall-Spencer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coastal seascape; shallow-water ecosystems; fish assemblages; connectivity; global change; climate change; multiple stressors; seagrass; Zostera marina; temperate region; marin ekologi; Marine Ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Coastal shallow-water ecosystems are essential for providing several goods and services globally, with seagrasses as an important contributor for maintaining high biodiversity and productivity within the nearshore seascape. The temperate species Zostera marina serves as a vital habitat for many species, including ecologically and economically important juvenile fish. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Distributed connectivity algorithms

    Författare :Esther Jennings; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependable Communication and Computation Systems; Kommunikations- och beräkningssystem;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of this research is to design efficient distributed algorithms which execute on an arbitrary network to recognize special connectivity structures within that network. In some cases, we also consider the maintenance of these special structures in dynamically changing networks. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The success or failure of many organisms to respond to the challenges of habitat destruction and a warming climate lies in the ability of plant species to disperse between isolated habitats or to migrate to new ranges. European semi-natural grasslands represent one of the world's most species-rich habitats at small scales, but agricultural intensification during the 20th century has meant that many plant species are left only on small fragments of former habitat. 4. 4. Fragmented landscapes : Assessment and communication of landscape connectivity in human-dominated landscapes

    Författare :Arvid Bergsten; Örjan Bodin; Bo Ebenman; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis summarizes the first half of my PhD on the theme of management of fragmented landscapes. The thesis applies – and reflects on the use of – network analysis of connectivity in relation to landscape planning. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Genetic connectivity of fish in the Western Indian Ocean

    Sammanfattning : An almost unbroken fringing reef runs along the east coast of Africa, the lagoon inside the reef is the foundation of almost all artisanal fisheries. It is a low-tech fishery conducted by many people. Some areas can have up to 19 fishermen per square kilometer. LÄS MER
