  1. 1. Autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Författare :Robert Klauninger; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) affects neonates of Ro/SSA and La/SSB positive women. NLE is associated with several clinical manifestations including skin rash, cytopenia and congenital heart block (CHB). CHB is the most severe manifestation which can develop into a lethal atrioventricular (AV) block. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The role of Ro52 autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Författare :Stina Salomonsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Autoantibodies; Ro52; congenital heart block CHB ; Sjögren s syndrome SS ; autoimmunity; inflammation; autoantigen; germinal center GC ;

    Sammanfattning : The presence of B cells producing autoantibodies is a common feature of many autoimmune conditions. The pathogenic role of the autoantibodies is often unclear, but they often serve as diagnostic markers and may be used as prognostic tools in some diseases. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Risk factors for autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block

    Författare :Sabrina Meisgen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Placental transfer of maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies during pregnancy is associated with conduction disturbances and inflammation in the developing fetal heart, termed autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block (CHB). Maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies are the main risk factors associated with the fetal cardiac manifestations to date, however, the low recurrence rate despite persisting autoantibodies in subsequent pregnancies indicates that additional factors determine fetal susceptibility. 4. 4. Ro52 antibodies and susceptibility genes in congenital heart block

    Författare :Linn S Strandberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Congenital heart block (CHB) develops in fetuses of Ro/SSA and La/SSB positive women. During pregnancy, the autoantibodies cross the placenta and affect the fetus in which a potentially lethal atrioventricular (AV) block may develop. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Being born with congenital heart block : risk factors, growth and development

    Författare :Amanda Skog; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Congenital heart block (CHB) is a rare but life-threatening disease associated with the presence of Ro and La autoantibodies in the mother of the child affected. CHB is one of the manifestations of neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) that may also include several other manifestations such as a skin rash and cytopenias. LÄS MER
