6. Solder Matrix Fiber Composite Thermal Interface Materials
Sammanfattning : Overheating has been a problem for microelectronics devices for decades, and the problem is exacerbated by the continued trend of miniaturization of features and the corresponding increase in power density. Thermal interface materials (TIMs) target one of the main bottlenecks in heat transfer: the interface between two materials, such as between a heat-generating microchip and a heatsink. LÄS MER
7. Neutron and X-ray Surface Scattering Reveals the Morphology of Soft Matter Thin Films
Sammanfattning : The last decades have been overshadowed by reports about the seemingly endless increase use of fossil-based resources. With the development of new products, our mindset is changing so that we more and more need to consider sustainability in our daily lives. LÄS MER
8. On the production of polyethylene dielectrics and conductive polymer composite fibres
Sammanfattning : Foamed cable insulations and conductive polymer composite fibres are two applications in polymer processing where the electrical properties of a material may be altered significantly during processing. Their common denominator is that the outcome depends to a large degree on the flow behaviour of the polymer melt, in particular the melt extensional properties. LÄS MER
9. Eco-Technologies for Immobilizing Redox Enzymes on Conductive Textiles, for Sustainable Development
Sammanfattning : Enzyme immobilization on electrically conductive supports is necessary to improve their bioactivity and stability, for use and re-use in applications depending on bio-electrochemical response, such as in bioelectrodes, biosensors, or biofuel cells. However, the immobilization methods used are still facing many challenges in terms of health hazards and high environmental impact. LÄS MER
10. Functional Layer-by-Layer films and aerogels of cellulose nanofibrils
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the preparation of functional Layer-by-Layer (LbL) films of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) and polyelectrolytes. LbL films ranging in thickness from 10 nm to 5 μm were deposited onto both solid surfaces and porous nanocellulose aerogels in order to prepare functional surfaces and materials. LÄS MER
