  1. 1. Moderate Nominalism and Moderate Realism

    Författare :Christer Svennerlind; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; analytic ontology; moderate nominalism; moderate realism; particular; universal; abstract; concrete; abstract particular; abstract universal; concrete particular; concrete universal; trope; moment; complex unity; collection; instance; unit attribute; intensional aspect; predicational aspect; continuous composite; articulated composite;

    Sammanfattning : The subject matter of this thesis is analytic ontology. Chapters II and III deal with two versions of trope theory, or moderate nominalism; these are defined as ontologies which recognise properties and relations but no (real) universals. The key notion of both theories, trope, is characterised as an abstract particular. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Use of Macro Basalt Fibre Concrete for Marine Applications

    Författare :Ali Mohammadi Mohaghegh; Johan L. Silfwerbrand; Vemund Årskog; Anniken T.Karlsen; Björn Täljsten; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete Barges; Reinforcement Corrosion; Floating Structures; Macro Basalt Fibres; Self-Compacting Fiber Concrete; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Deterioration of concrete structures due to the corrosion of embedded steel is a well-known universal problem. Norway with its numerous bridges, ports, offshore and floating structures along its coastline, is also encountered with corrosion degradation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fatigue of Asphalt Mixes - Theory of Viscoelasticity and Continuum Damage Mechanics Applied to Uniaxial Fatigue Data from Laboratory Tests

    Författare :Richard Nilsson; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; asphalt mixture; viscoelastic; Fatigue; deterioration models; Continuum Damage Mechanics; laboratory test; uniaxial; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The advance of analytic (mechanistic) design methods increases the need for fundamental material properties. Fatigue cracking due to traffic loading, in combination with permanent deformation (rutting), thermal cracking, irregularities, frost heave and reflective cracking are some of the major criteria used when designing an asphalt concrete pavement. 5. 5. Of Affliction : The Experience of Thought in Gilles Deleuze by way of Marcel Proust

    Författare :Johan Sehlberg; Sven-Olov Wallenstein; Ingemar Haag; Catarina Pombo Nabais; Södertörns högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Gilles Deleuze; Marcel Proust; Plato; thinking; experience; affliction; temporality; essence; literature; apprenticeship; pathology; Kritisk kulturteori; Critical and Cultural Theory;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis is to explicate the experience of thought corresponding to the critical undertaking characteristic of Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy between Nietzsche and Philosophy (1962) and Difference and Repetition (1968), from within the conjunction of Deleuze’s Proust and Signs (1964) and Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time (1913-1927). The importance of Proust for the development of Deleuze’s two major themes at the time, the overturning of Platonism and transcendental empiricism, has generally not been sufficiently recognised and investigated in Deleuze scholarship.
