  1. 21. Traces of Mathematical Facts and Students’ Understanding of the Concept `Quadrilateral´ : An enquiry into young students’ communication

    Författare :Eva Juhlin; Maria Johansson; Ewa Bergqvist; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mathematics Education; Matematik och lärande;

    Sammanfattning : Mathematics could be described as a special kind of language, a discourse in which participants communicate abstract concepts. Communication and language are known to be important factors in teaching and learning but little is known about neither communication between students in relation to geometrical concepts, nor what traces of mathematical facts and understanding is incorporated into their communication. 2. 22. Railway traffic disturbance management

    Författare :Johanna Törnquist; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Railway traffic; Transportation; Re-scheduling; Disturbance management; Decision support systems;

    Sammanfattning : With the increasing traffic volumes in many railway networks and reports on capacity deficiencies that result in insufficient punctuality and reliability, the need for efficient disturbance management solutions becomes evident. This thesis focuses on solutions that aim to minimise the consequences of disturbances for the various stakeholders and specifically on methods for re-scheduling the traffic. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Läsa, förstå, analysera : En komparativ studie om svenska och franska gymnasieelevers reception av en narrativ text

    Författare :Maritha Johansson; Bengt-Göran Martinsson; Ann-Kari Sundberg; Anna Nordenstam; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Literary reception; comprehension; interpretation; analysis; literary conceptual tools; literary socialization; literature education; upper secondary school; Litterär reception; förståelse; tolkning; begreppsanvändning; analys; litterär socialisation; litteraturundervisning; gymnasieskola; litteraturdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : Syftet med avhandlingen är att bidra till en ökad kunskap om hur litterär socialisation genom undervisning i olika kontexter påverkar elevers sätt att förhålla sig till en narrativ text och vilka konsekvenser den litterära socialisationen får för olika aspekter av litteraturreception, såsom tolkning, förståelse och begreppshantering. I denna komparativa studie används Sverige och Frankrike som exempel. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Precipitation phase determination in cold region conceptual models - analysis and method development

    Författare :James Feiccabrino; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Snow Models; Precipitation Phase Uncertainty; ; Snow; Conceptual Model; Cold Regions;

    Sammanfattning : Precipitation phase uncertainty is a known source of error in conceptual models used for many hydrological, climatological, and environmental applications. These conceptual models often use the simple approach of calibrating an air temperature threshold (TRS) over a large area irrespective of physiographic characteristics such as distance to the ocean and topographic relief. 5. 25. Conceptual Politics in Practice : How Soft Power Changed the World

    Författare :Stephanie Christine Winkler; Mark Rhinard; Linus Hagström; Patrick Thaddeus Jackson; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Concepts are a key feature of academic research and international politics. Despite the fact that interpreting, classifying and communicating the world through concepts has far-reaching social and political consequences, their various roles and complex dynamics remain poorly understood in International Relations (IR).
