  1. 1. “Count on me!” : Mathematical development, developmental dyscalculia and computer-based intervention

    Författare :Linda Olsson; Ulf Träff; Joakim Samuelsson; Lisa Thorell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mathematical development; symbolic number processing; Approximate number system; developmental dyscalculia; computer-based intervention; matematisk utveckling; symboliskt nummerprocessande; Approximativa nummersystemet; dyskalkyli; datorbaserad intervention;

    Sammanfattning : A “sense” of number can be found across species, yet only humans supplement it with exact and symbolic number, such as number words and digits. However, what abilities leads to successful or unsuccessful arithmetic proficiency is still debated. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computer-based speech therapy using visual feedback with focus on children with profound hearing impairments

    Författare :Anne-Marie Öster; David House; James Mahshie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Speech technology; hearing-imparment; speech therapy; visual feedback; second language learning; computer-based speech training; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents work in the area of computer-based speech therapy using different types of visual feedback to replace the auditory feedback channel. The study includes diagnostic assessment methods prior to therapy, type of therapy design, and type of visual feedback for different users during different stages of therapy for increasing the efficiency. 3. 3. Dialogues on the Net - Power structures in asynchronous discussions in the context of a web based teacher training course

    Författare :Annette Johnsson; Utbildningsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; minority; cultural background; sex; ethnicity; gender; age; socio-economic; dialogicity; web based; computer based; CMC; net based; asynchronous; CSCL; teacher education; power structures; dialogues; Group work; team work; symbolic capital; group work;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis is to investigate the interaction processes that occur in group dialogues when teacher students work in small groups, using net based asynchronous dialogues to solve a problem in the area of environmental sustainability. More specifically, the interest is to determine whether students’ net based dialogues give rise to patterns of dominance/subordination similar to those observed in face-to-face situations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Datorträning i läsflyt och stavning : analys och utvärdering av fixerad och resultatstyrd flash-cardexponering

    Författare :Maj-Gun Johansson; Åke Olofsson; Pekka Niemi; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Reading fluency; automatization; flashcard training; time pressured exposure; computer-based remediation; dyslexia; decoding strategy; orthographic coding; phonological decoding; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi; Education; pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decade new attention has been paid to reading fluency. One reason might be that training studies often have failed to provide growth in reading rate in spite of the fact that the accuracy problem was remediated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The use of interventions for promoting reading development among struggling readers

    Författare :Linda Fälth; Idor Svensson; Pekka Niemi; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Reading; reading difficulties; interventions; pupils; computer-based training; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : A challenge for both researchers and practising teachers is to develop, disseminate and implement methods to help all students acquire good reading skills. One way to do this is to conduct intervention studies. LÄS MER
