  1. 16. Transport Analytics Based on Cellular Network Signalling Data

    Författare :David Gundlegård; Johan M. Karlsson; Tommy Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Cellular networks of today generate a massive amount of signalling data. A large part of this signalling is generated to handle the mobility of subscribers and contains location information that can be used to fundamentally change our understanding of mobility patterns. 2. 17. Hiding and Reducing Memory Latency : Energy-Efficient Pipeline and Memory System Techniques

    Författare :Andreas Sembrant; David Black-Schaffer; Erik Hagersten; David A. Wood; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Memory accesses in modern processors are both far slower and vastly more energy-expensive than the actual computations. To improve performance, processors spend a significant amount of energy and resources trying to hide and reduce the memory latency. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Accelerating Distributed Storage in Heterogeneous Settings

    Författare :Waleed Reda; Dejan Kostic; Peter Van Roy; Marco Chiesa; Adam Morrison; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distributed storage; File systems; Hardware offload; Persistent memory; Distribuerad lagring; Dilsystem; Maskinvaruavlastning; Beständigt minne; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneity in cloud environments is a fact of life—from workload skews and network path changes, to the diversity of server hardware components, these are all factors that impact the performance of distributed storage. In this dissertation, we identify that heterogeneity can in fact be one of the primary causes of service degradation for storage systems. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Computational driver behavior models for vehicle safety applications

    Författare :Malin Svärd; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver adaptation; Driver models; Visual attention; Safety benefit assessment; Evidence accumulatoin; PrARX; Hybrid dynamical systems; ADAS; Predictive processing;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate how human driving behaviors can be formally described in mathematical models intended for online personalization of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) or offline virtual safety evaluations. Both longitudinal (braking) and lateral (steering) behaviors in routine driving and emergencies are addressed. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Secure and Privacy-Preserving Cloud-Assisted Computing

    Författare :Georgia Tsaloli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : Smart devices such as smartphones, wearables, and smart appliances collect significant amounts of data and transmit them over the network forming the Internet of Things (IoT). Many applications in our daily lives (e.g., health, smart grid, traffic monitoring) involve IoT devices that often have low computational capabilities. LÄS MER
