  1. 16. Fibre orientation, rheological behaviour and simulation of the compression moulding process for composite materials

    Författare :C. Fredrik Vahlund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Compression moulding is a common manufacturing process for composite materials. In order to better predict the processing and performance of components, simulation tools are becoming more important. In this thesis the behaviour of the compression moulding raw material has been studied to provide a platform for better simulations. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Influence of the properties of bio-coal as a substitute for fossil coal in carbon composite agglomerates and in coke

    Författare :Asmaa El-Tawil; Lena Sundqvist Ökvist; Bo Björkman; Timo Fabritius; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bio-coal; devolatilization; bio-agglomerates; bio-coke; Centrumbildning - Centrum för avancerad gruvteknik och metallurgi CAMM ; Centre - Centre for Advanced Mining Metallurgy CAMM ; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The iron-ore-based blast furnace (BF) process is still the most dominant method for producing metallic iron units for steelmaking, and the BF is also the main contributor to the 7-9% of global CO2 emissions which, according to World Steel Association, originate from the steel industry.  The steel industry is aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by different means. 3. 18. Development of Cellulose-Based, Nanostructured, Conductive Paper for Biomolecular Extraction and Energy Storage Applications

    Författare :Aamir Razaq; Albert Mihranyan; Srømme Maria; Leif Nyholm; Johan Bobacka; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Polypyrrole; Cladophora cellulose; Conductive paper; Electrochemically controlled ion-exchange; DNA extraction; Paper-based energy storage devices; Chopped Carbon fibers; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot nanoteknologi och funktionella material; Engineering Science with specialization in Nanotechnology and Functional Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Conductive paper materials consisting of conductive polymers and cellulose are promising for high-tech applications (energy storage and biosciences) due to outstanding aspects of environmental friendliness, mechanical flexibility, electrical conductivity and efficient electroactive behavior. Recently, a conductive composite paper material was developed by covering the individual nanofibers of cellulose from the green algae Cladophora with a polypyrrole (PPy) layer. LÄS MER

  5. 20. In situ X-Ray Spectroscopy of Ethylene Epoxidation over Ag and studies of Li-ion batteries and Cu sulfidation

    Författare :Paw Kristiansen; Laurent Duda; Thorsten Schmitt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; In situ; XAS; RIXS; heterogeneous catalysis; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on experiments applying synchrotron based X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy(XAS) and Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering (RIXS) in the soft X-ray region to energy related systems. The main work of this thesis has been to develop a reaction cell that allowed for in situ XAS and RIXS investigations of the partial epoxidation of ethylene over a Ag catalyst at 1 atm and up to 250C.
