1. Diagnostic Methods for Composite Insulators with Biological Growth
Sammanfattning : Composite insulators have a number of advantages compared to conventional insulators, but the fact that they are more prone to aging is a major drawback. For instance, biological growths, like algae and fungi, have been found to colonize composite insulators, and possibly effecting the insulation performance. LÄS MER
2. Influence of Ageing on Material Properties at Interfaces in Composite Insulators
Sammanfattning : High quality of internal interfaces in composite insulators for high voltage applications is necessary for securing durability of their functionality. Weak macroscopic interfaces between the glass fibre reinforced (FRP) epoxy core and the silicone rubber (SIR) housing, such as spots with reduced bonding or a loss of the adhesion as well as presence of foreign contaminants, can appear to have an accelerating effect on the evolution of ageing processes, though it may take years before the first signs of processes endangering the insulator function appear. 3. Image Analysis for Diagnostics of Insulators with Biological Contamination
Sammanfattning : Composite insulators have a number of advantages compared to conventional insulators. However, the fact that they are more prone to aging is a major drawback. For instance, biological growths, like algae and fungi, have been found to colonize composite insulators, and possibly effecting the performance of the materials. LÄS MER
4. Evaluating Resistance to Corona and Ozone in Polymeric Materials for High Voltage Outdoor Applications
Sammanfattning : Resistance to corona discharges and ozone, the well known ageing factors for polymeric materials used in outdoor insulation, has been listed as being of great importance among twelve properties identified by CIGRE WG D1.14 – Material Properties for Non-ceramic Outdoor Insulation. 5. Properties and Long-Term Performance of Internal Interfaces in Composite Insulators
Sammanfattning : An important component that secures durability of composite insulators for high voltage applications is the quality of internal interfaces. Weak interfaces, in form of a reduced bonding or a loss of the adhesion between the insulation components, can be devastating for the long-term functionality of an insulator. LÄS MER
