1. Structural Interaction between Vehicles. An Investigation of Crash Compatibility between Cars and Heavy Goods Vehicles
Sammanfattning : While frontal collisions between Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and passenger cars are rarecompared to car-to-car frontal crashes, they are much more severe. Between 43% and 73% ofall frontal car-to-truck accidents result in fatalities. LÄS MER
2. Aerogel-based plasters for renovation of buildings in Sweden: Identification of possibilities, information deficiencies and challenges
Sammanfattning : Aerogel-based plasters are a class of high energy efficient wall finishes with declared thermal conductivities around 30-50 mW/(m∙K). Aerogel-based plasters are promising alternatives to substitute conventional insulation materials when renovating uninsulated building envelopes. LÄS MER
3. Assessment of Experimental, Computational, and Combined EFD/CFD Methods for Ship Performance Prediction
Sammanfattning : In today’s highly competitive market, alongside increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, the precise prediction of ship performance has assumed paramount importance for both design verification and operational evaluations. This thesis addresses the need for a comprehensive assessment of Experimental Fluid Dynamics (EFD), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and their combination to enhance the accuracy of performance predictions. 4. Toward Carbon based NEMS
Sammanfattning : A systematic analysis and assessment of carbon nanotube (CNT) based NEMS switches is presented and their features are compared to typical complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) performance parameters. It is shown that CNT-based switches with considerably smaller leakage current compared to CMOS switches can be realized. LÄS MER
5. Uppdrag standardisering : införande och användning av manualbaserade utrednings- och bedömningsverktyg i socialtjänsten
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the issue of standardization in social work. Standardization is a necessary and fascinating, though underestimated, phenomenon, which governs, regulates and calibrates social life. In Swedish social services, we have witnessed an increased use of top-down imposed manual-based tools for investigative and assessment work. LÄS MER
