21. After Asylums and Orphanages
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, I investigate the effect of partisan politics on the types of care policies that replaced asylums and orphanages between 1950 and 2015. Combining insights from the historical-sociological literature on party formation and theories of welfare politics, I formulate a theory of the partisan politics of care and apply it to two uniquely old care policy areas. Sammanfattning : The dissertation compares the Swedish parliamentary parties' images of the economic crises which have played a significant political role in Swedish politics since the early seventies. Special attention is paid to comparing the explanations of the crises' origins which the parties hold and to the imperatives that arise and tend to dominate the agenda, motivating and legitimising the policies that have been followed. 25. I linje med partiet? : Maktspel och lojalitet i den svenska riksdagen
Sammanfattning : The preconditions for Swedish MPs’ (Members of Parliament) loyalty to their parliamentary party groups have been modified by two recent constitutional changes: the introduction of preference voting in the electoral system in 1998, and the 1997 reorganisation of the national budgetary process. The main purpose of this thesis is to determine the impact of these reforms on Swedish MPs’ inclination to defect from their party group’s interests. LÄS MER
