  1. 1. Organisational background to environmental impacts - Field study on housing management in Gothenburg

    Författare :Birgit Brunklaus; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; time series; housing management; organisational influence; organising; LCA; environmental performance.; consumption data; comparative study; field study; existing buildings;

    Sammanfattning : Today, there is a rich variety of technical solutions for environmental improvements of buildings. Nevertheless, the environmental performance of for example residential buildings has not been changed since the 1980s. Management initiative is needed for the introduction of technical solutions for environmental improvements. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Towards Sustainable Use of Chemicals in the Textile Industry: How life cycle assessment can contribute

    Författare :Sandra Roos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Toxicity; Textile; LCA; Chemicals; Impact assessment;

    Sammanfattning : The use of chemicals in the textile industry is a topic that has been given increasing attention in recent years. Hazardous chemicals are found in textile consumer products on a regular basis, and there is an increased awareness of the health and environmental impact caused by emissions of hazardous chemicals in the countries where textile production occurs. 3. 3. Life Cycle Assessment of Building Products. Case Studies and Methodology

    Författare :Åsa Jönsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VOCs; environmental assessment; floorings; methods; LCA; concrete; indoor climate; Life Cycle Assessment; structural frames; building materials; steel; tools;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this thesis were to demonstrate how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) may be applied to building products, to describe what methodological LCA issues are specific to building products, to work out solutions to some of these issues and to relate LCA to other environmental assessment methods that may be applied to building products. First, in a literature study, the state of the art in the field of environmental assessment of building products is described, and the five articles constituting the thesis are put into context. 4. 4. Technical Alternatives and Energy in LCA

    Författare :Carina Rehnström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is based on two papers, a comparative LCA case study paper and a paper on energy issues in LCA. A case study was done in order to investigate which of two compared technologies for chemical recovery in the pulp industry (recovery boiler, RB, or black liquor gasification, BLG) is environmentally favourable. 5. 5. Communication of life cycle assessment results : life cycle key performance indicators

    Författare :Helena Nydahl; Thomas Olofsson; Anders P. Åstrand; Staffan Andersson; Åsa Wahlström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Life Cycle Assessment; Monetary Valuation; Climate Impact; Life Cycle Key Performance Indicators; Global Warming Potential; LCA-result communication; Interpretation of LCA-results; climate change; klimatförändringar;

    Sammanfattning : The global warming that we are on track for will result in a severe loss of natural capital leading to significant losses in economic capital when urban infrastructure is destroyed, agricultural productivity declines and poverty spread among other disasters. Climate change due to emissions does not only affect the polluter, the hazardous effects becomes evident on a global level. LÄS MER
