  1. 6. Robust Low-Cost Multiple Antenna Processing for V2V Communication

    Författare :Chouaib Bencheikh Lehocine; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Directional antennas; Beamforming; Multiple antennas; Periodic communication; Broadcast V2V communication; Hybrid combining;

    Sammanfattning : Cooperative V2V communication with frequent, periodic broadcast of messages between vehicles is a key enabler of applications that increase traffic safety and traffic efficiency on roads. Such broadcast V2V communication requires an antenna system with omnidirectional coverage, which is difficult to achieve using a single antenna element. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Kademlia on the Open Internet : How to Achieve Sub-Second Lookups in a Multimillion-Node DHT Overlay

    Författare :Raúl Jimenez; Seif Haridi; Björn Knutsson; Arnaud Legout; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dht; p2p; distributed systems; kademlia;

    Sammanfattning : Distributed hash tables (DHTs) have gained much attention from the research community in the last years. Formal analysis and evaluations on simulators and small-scale deployments have shown good scalability and performance. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Implementation and Evaluation of Signal Processing Circuits for Optical Communication

    Författare :Erik Börjeson; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adaptive Equalization; Carrier Phase Recovery; Digital Signal Processing; Application-Specific Integrated Circuits; Communication Systems; Fiber-Optic Communication;

    Sammanfattning : The digital signal processing (DSP) circuits used in the fiber-optic communication links that make up the backbone of the Internet can be a significant contributor the over-all power dissipation of a link. As the number of connected users and their bandwidth requirements are expected to continue to grow over the coming years, the development of power-efficient high-throughput DSP systems is a critical factor in enabling this growth. 4. 9. Energy-Efficient Digital Signal Processing for Fiber-Optic Communication Systems

    Författare :Christoffer Fougstedt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Digital Signal Processing; Forward Error Correction; Fiber Optic Communication; Application Specific Integrated Circuits; Communication Systems; Non-linear Impairment Mitigation;

    Sammanfattning : Modern fiber-optic communication systems rely on complex digital signal processing (DSP) and forward error correction (FEC), which contribute to a significant amount of the over-all link power dissipation. Bandwidth demands are evergrowing and circuit technology scaling will due to fundamental reasons come to an end; energy-efficient design of DSP is thus necessary both from a sustainability perspective and a technical perspective. 5. 10. Research communication in the climate crisis : Open letters and the mobilization of information

    Författare :Carin Graminius; Kultur och Samhälle Informationspraktiker: Kommunikation; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; open letters; research communication; climate change;

    Sammanfattning : What happens to researchers when the topic they study poses an existential threat to the world as we know it? When communication on the topic is politically polarized, but at the same time institutionally encouraged and existentially needed? By what means do researchers come to navigate this complex communication environment? The climate crisis and changing social, political, and academic conditions bring such questions to the forefront in researchers’ public communication on climate issues. This thesis engages with open letters as a form of research communication to explore the practices climate scholars engage in to convey information and inspire urgent action in climate matters.
