11. The kaleidoscope of communication : Different perspectives on communication involving children with severe multiple disabilities
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of six publications presenting a theoretical framework, a methodological proposal and three empirical studies. The aim of the work is; to gain knowledge on how children with severe multiple disabilities communicate with their caregivers, to analyse how different research strategies can add knowledge from different perspectives on communication, and to develop models for analysing and describing the dyadic interaction. 12. High-Throughput Power-Efficient DSP for Fiber-Optic Communication Systems
Sammanfattning : Communication networks are a vital backbone of the modern society. Power dissipation of optical communication links and digital signal processing (DSP) subsystems for these links are a major concern as throughput requirements increase, and the number of deployed systems grows. 13. Parkinson’s Disease and Communication : Intelligibility, Interaction and Participation
Sammanfattning : Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting dopamine production in the basal ganglia. It is a common cause of disability among elderly people. The main symptoms are tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia, but there is a substantial individual variation of how the disease manifests itself. LÄS MER
14. Wideband integrated circuits for optical communication systems
Sammanfattning : The exponential growth of internet traffic drives datacenters to constantly improvetheir capacity. Several research and industrial organizations are aiming towardsTbps Ethernet and beyond, which brings new challenges to the field of high-speedbroadband electronic circuit design. LÄS MER
15. Analysing the carbon footprint of food : insights for consumer communication
Sammanfattning : In Europe, food consumption is responsible for approximately 30% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. There has been huge interest in estimating the carbon footprint (CF) of food products, i.e. the total amount of GHG emitted during the life cycle of the product, and communicating these to consumers to enable them to make informed choices.
