  1. 1. Experiences of Interns and General Practitioners of Communicating with and Writing Referrals to the Radiology Department

    Författare :Johan Kruse; Åsa Engström; Solweig Lundgren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Referral; communication; knowledge; radiology; General Practitioner; medical intern; Health Science; Hälsovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this licentiate thesis was to describe the experiences of medical interns and general practitioners (GPs) communicating with and writing referrals to the radiology department. The referral is a major communication tool between medical professionals to establish an accurate diagnosis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Patients and Staff in the Hybrid Operating Room: Experiences and Challenges

    Författare :May Bazzi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hybrid operating room; patient experience; nursing staff; endovascular aortic repair; teamwork; video recordings; interviews; radiology; surgery; anesthesia;

    Sammanfattning : The hybrid operating room (OR), which combines a traditional OR with a radiological intervention room, is one example of the technical advancements within hospitals. In a hybrid OR, the staff have to manage the technique confidently in a not completely familiar environment and still be able to care for the vulnerable patient in the safest way. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ensuring the intended volume is given the intended absorbed dose in radiotherapy: Managing geometric variations and treatment hazards

    Författare :Ola Holmberg; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; safety; risk; hazard; organ motion; set-up; margins; volume definition; radiotherapy; accuracy; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Radiopharmaceutical technology; Radiofarmaceutisk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Methods for ensuring that the intended volume receives the intended absorbed dose in radiotherapy have been investigated. In order to optimise radiation treatment of cancer, geometric variations in the treatment chain need to be controlled. Furthermore, hazards potentially leading to unintended irradiation need to be controlled. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dose Management in Diagnostic Radiology - application of the DICOM imaging standard and a Monte Carlo dose engine for exposure surveillance

    Författare :Hans-Erik Källman; Anders Ahnesjö; Hilde M. Olerud; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; metadata; DICOM; radiation safety; Monte Carlo; source model; patient model; optimization; justification; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : Ionizing radiation is used in diagnostic radiology with a large contribution to the health of the patients. The regulations to limit the detrimental effects, e.g. cancer induction, are based on recommendations from the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella

    Författare :Jan Sanfridsson; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital.; computer-assisted; Picture Archiving and Communication Systems; computed radiography; radiography; effective dose; radiation dosage; measurements; biomechanics; dislocating patella; musculoskeletal; patellofemoral joint; Knee joint; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. LÄS MER
