  1. 21. Selectivity in NMR and LC-MS Metabolomics : The Importance of Sample Preparation and Separation, and how to Measure Selectivity in LC-MS Metabolomics

    Författare :Albert Elmsjö; Curt Pettersson; Torbjörn Arvidsson; Thomas Moritz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metabolomics; NMR; LC-MS; HILIC; UHPLC; Q-ToF; selectivity; co-feature ratio; method evaluation; data evaluation; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Until now, most metabolomics protocols have been optimized towards high sample throughput and high metabolite coverage, parameters considered to be highly important for identifying influenced biological pathways and to generate as many potential biomarkers as possible. From an analytical point of view this can be troubling, as neither sample throughput nor the number of signals relates to actual quality of the detected signals/metabolites. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Syngas production by integrating thermal conversion processes in an existing biorefinery

    Författare :Katarina Åberg; Anders Nordin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biorefinery; biofuels; syngas; gasification; torrefaction; methane reforming; H2 CO ratio; system analysis; CO2 negativity;

    Sammanfattning : The use of carbon from fossil-based resources result in changes in the earth’s climate due to emissions of greenhouse gases. Biomass is the only renewable source of carbon that may be converted to transportation fuels and chemicals, markets now fully dominated by traditional oil supply. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Airway pressure release ventilation : A systematic experimental approach

    Författare :Peter Neumann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; APRV; CPAP; atelectasis; recruitment; PEEP; inverse ratio ventilation; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Clinical Physiology; klinisk fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Airway pressure release ventilation (APRV) is a ventilatory mode which allows unrestrictedspontaneous breathing (SB) throughout the ventilatory cycle. If SB is insufficient, mechanicalventilatory support is achieved by brief periodic decreases of the airway pressure below the CPAPlevel. LÄS MER

  4. 24. On Experimental and Theoretical Studies of Dynamics and Particle Production in p+Nucleus and Heavy Ion Reactions

    Författare :Anton B Fokin; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; heavy-ion collisions; excitation function; subthreshold pion production; collective effects; entropy and chaos production; d p ratio; molecular dynamics; artificial neural networks; multifragmentation; Physics; Fysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1998:Fokin;

    Sammanfattning : Several experiments and theoretical models of intermediate energy heavy ion collision physics are presented in this thesis. Statistical and dynamical aspects of nuclear collisions are widely discussed these days, particularly in connection with the multifragmentation phenomenon and the possible link to a liquid-gas phase transition in the spinodal region of nuclear matter phase diagram. 5. 25. Phosphor Thermometry on Surfaces - A Study of its Methodology and its Practical Applications

    Författare :Christoph Knappe; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coating Thickness; Temperature Calibration; Two-Colour Ratio; Lifetime Decay; Thermometry; Thermographic Phosphor; Laser Combustion Diagnostics; Laser-Induced Phosphorescence; Non-Linearity; ICCD; PMT; Signal Processing Algorithms; Fysicumarkivet A:2013:Knappe;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphor Thermometry is a term describing an optical measurement technique for remote temperature sensing. Its working principle is based on the temperature-sensitive emission characteristics of certain ceramic substances termed thermographic phosphors. LÄS MER
