  1. 1. Colour – A Reliable Quality-Control Tool for Industrial Thermowood® Production

    Författare :Petteri Torniainen; Dennis Jones; Olov Karlsson; Dick Sandberg; Henrik Veikko Juhani Heräjärvi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Thermally-modified timber; Thermo-S; Thermo-D; colour Lab; Scots pine; Pinus sylvestris; Norway spruce; Picea abies; quality control; Träteknik; Wood Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the work presented in this doctoral thesis has been to correlate the commercial output of  ThermoWood® process with a pre-defined, quantifiable, non-destructive measurable parameter - colour, and to show the feasibility of measurements to be the essential part of the internal and external quality-control system. Colour is the most evident property changed of thermally-modified timber (TMT). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Situation Awareness in Colour Printing and Beyond

    Författare :Jens Lundström; Antanas Verikas; Juan A. Botía Blaya; Högskolan i Halmstad; []

    Sammanfattning : Machine learning methods are increasingly being used to solve real-world problems in the society. Often, the complexity of the methods are well hidden for users. However, integrating machine learning methods in real-world applications is not a straightforward process and requires knowledge both about the methods and domain knowledge of the problem. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sound perception and design in multimodal environments

    Författare :PerMagnus Lindborg; Anders K. Friberg; Daniel Västfjäll; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; HUMANIORA; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANITIES; sound; perception; design; multimodal; environment; soundscape; music; listening; crossmodal; psychoacoustics; psychophysiology; personality trait; emotion; appraisal; aesthetics; colour; correlation; regression; classification; sonification; Tal- och musikkommunikation; Speech and Music Communication;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is about sound in context. Since sensory processing is inherently multimodal, research in sound is necessarily multidisciplinary. The present work has been guided by principles of systematicity, ecological validity, complementarity of  methods, and integration of science and art. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Genomics and Transcriptomics of Behaviour and Plumage Colouration

    Författare :Jesper Fogelholm; Dominic Wright; Göran Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Genomics; Transcriptomics; Behaviour; Colour; Gene Expresssion; Domestication.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim throughout this thesis has been to investigate the underlying genetics of behaviours and feather colour and plumage patterns by using chickens as a model organism. Chickens are extremely important as a food source, both in terms of egg, as well as meat production. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Applications of Four-Colour Fluorescent Primer Extension Technology for SNP Analysis and Discovery

    Författare :Annika Ahlford; Ann-Christine Syvänen; Mats Nilsson; David Schwartz; Uppsala universitet; []
