1. Printability and Ink-Coating Interactions in Inkjet Printing
Sammanfattning : Inkjet is a digital printing process where the ink is ejected directly onto a substrate from a jet device driven by an electronic signal. Most inkjet inks have a low viscosity and a low surface tension, which put high demands on the coating layer’s porosity and absorbency characteristics. LÄS MER
2. Development of bixin formulations. Extraction, microencapsulation, dispersibility and photostability
Sammanfattning : The aril that covers the seeds of the plant species Bixa orellana is composed of the natural colorants bixin and norbixin, phenolic components and native carbohydrates composed of hemicellulose, starch, and a small fraction of proteins. Bixin is a hydrophobic carotenoid that is water insoluble and is mostly used for coloring oil-based formulations. LÄS MER
3. Ink-paper interactions and effect on print quality in inkjet printing
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns paper and ink interactions related to inkjet printing. Themain purpose of this work was to gain a deeper understanding in whichparameters control the flow of ink into papers and how the ink interacts with thepaper surface. The overall objective was to find key parameters to optimize theprint quality in inkjet printing. LÄS MER
4. Improving image quality in multi-channel printing - multilevel halftoning, color separation and graininess characterization
Sammanfattning : Color printing is traditionally achieved by separating an input image into four channels (CMYK) and binarizing them using halftoning algorithms, in order to designate the locations of ink droplet placement. Multi-channel printing means a reproduction that employs additional inks other than these four in order to augment the color gamut (scope of reproducible colors) and reduce undesirable ink droplet visibility, so-called graininess. 5. Eco-designed functionalization of polyester fabric
Sammanfattning : There is an increased awareness of the textile dyeing and finishing sector’s high impact on the environment due to high water consumption, polluted wastewater, and inefficient use of energy. To reduce environmental impacts, researchers propose the use of dyes from natural sources. LÄS MER
