16. The adaptor protein Fe65 and APP processing
Sammanfattning : The amyloid precursor protein (APP) protein has been in the limelight of research on Alzheimer´s disease (AD) pathogenesis because its proteolytic processing gives rise to the neurotoxic amyloid β (Aβ) peptide, the main constituent of amyloid plaques in the brains of AD patients. APP is sequentially processed by at least three different proteases termed α-, β-, and γ-secretases. LÄS MER
17. Characterization of Centrally Expressed Solute Carriers : Histological and Functional Studies with Transgenic Mice
Sammanfattning : The Solute Carrier (SLC) superfamily is the largest group of membrane-bound transporters, currently with 456 transporters in 52 families. Much remains unknown about the tissue distribution and function of many of these transporters. LÄS MER
18. Chemical biology and digital image processing to unravel complex molecular mechanisms in Arabidopsis
Sammanfattning : The sessile life of plant directed their evolution toward multiple adaptive strategies. Rapid protein turn over has been described to be a key regulatory mechanism for plant adaptation. Ubiquitin-modified proteins are targeted for degradation by the 26S-proteasome. LÄS MER
19. Chimeric gene delivery vectors : Design, synthesis, and mechanisms from transcriptomics analysis
Sammanfattning : Delivery of nucleic acid is a promising approach for genetic diseases/disorders. However, gene therapy using oligonucleotides (ONs) suffers from low transfection efficacy due to negative charges, weak cellular permeability, and enzymatic degradation. LÄS MER
20. Reciprocal interactions of neuropeptide y and angiotensin II receptors with a2-adrenoceptors in the nucleus tractus solitarii of the rat
Sammanfattning : Neuropeptide Y (NPY), angiotensin II (Ang II) and adrenergic transmission lines in the nucleus tractus solitarii (NTS), the major relay nucleus involved in the cardiovascular reflex, play an important role in central cardiovascular control. The present work explored reciprocal interactions of NPY and Ang II receptor subtypes with a2-adrenoceptors in the NTS of the normotensive Sprague-Dawley rat (SD), the normotensive Wistar Kyoto rat (WKY) and the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) by using a cardiovascular analysis, quantitative receptor autoradiography, immunocytochemistry and in situ hybridization techniques.
