Self-regulation was initiated in the 1930s due to a business desire to regulate fair competition in marketing, and while it initially was a minor operation, the 1950s and 1960s were characterized by extensive development. Sammanfattning : The main causative agent of human urinary tract infections is the uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) pathotype. It may cause disease due to its ability to express a number of bacterial virulence factors. Fimbrial adhesins are particularly important for the initial establishment of infection in the urinary tract. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Transcription factors, proteins regulating the transcription of target genes, and plant hormones play important roles in the regulation of plant development. The plant hormone auxin has been assigned functions in many developmental processes and its differential distribution between cells, created mainly by local auxin biosynthesis and polar auxin transport, results in auxin maxima and gradients, which appear to be important for its role in developmental regulation. Sammanfattning : Parkinson fs disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder which affects 1% of the population over the age of 60. In order to identify candidate genes with a potential role in Parkinson fs disease pathology, we investigated genes which are involved in protein aggregation and the ubiquitin ]proteasome system (alpha ]synuclein and ubiquitin carboxy ]terminal hydrolase L1, UCH ]L1), oxidative stress (DJ ]1), mitochondrial function (mitochondrial transcription factor A, TFAM), regulation of drug/toxin levels (multi ]drug resistance 1, MDR1 and alcohol and aldehyde dehydrogenases, ADH and ALDHs), as well as a gene with unknown function, but highly implicated in Parkinson fs disease genetics (leucine ]rich repeat kinase 2, LRRK2).
