21. Revalorization of poorly reactive sources by mechanochemical activation : An alternative approach for sustainable cementitious binders
Sammanfattning : The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change made once again clear the urge to take immediate actions to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Among the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Nr. LÄS MER
22. Protein-based Packaging Films, Sheets and Composites: Process Development and Functional Properties
Sammanfattning : The depletion of the petroleum resources and a number of environmental concerns led to considerable research efforts in the field of biodegradable materials over the last few decades. Of the diverse range of biopolymers, wheat gluten (WG) stands out as an alternative to synthetic plastics in packaging applications due to its attractive combination of flexibility and strength, high gas barrier properties under low humidity conditions and renewability. 23. Evaluation of Dust Suppressants for Gravel Roads: Methods Development and Efficiency Studies
Sammanfattning : Application of the proper dust suppressant to a gravel road ensures road safety and riding comfort as well as creating a cleaner and healthier environment for residents in buildings adjacent to the road. It also reduces the need and cost for vehicle repair, road maintenance activities, and aggregate supplementation. LÄS MER
24. Effect of Compactive Effort on the Behaviour of a Gypsiferous Subgrade Soil
Sammanfattning : Presented in this thesis is a study of the effect of compactive effort and long-term soaking on strength, stiffness and deformation characteristics of a gypsiferous subgrade soil from Kirkuk city. The tested soil is sandy lean clay (CL) according to the Unified Soil Classification System and A-6 (6) soil according to AASHTO soil classification system. 25. Evaluation of Dust Suppressants for Gravel Roads : Methods Development and Efficiency Studies
Sammanfattning : Approximately 75 percent (300 000 km) of the total Swedish road network and 20 percent(20 000 km) of the national road network consists of gravel roads. One of the most significantproblems associated with gravel roads is traffic-generated dust emission, which contributes tothe deterioration of the road surface and acts as a major source of particulate matter releasedinto the atmosphere, thereby involving public economics, road safety, human health, andenvironmental quality.
