  1. 1. Design strategies for new drugs targeting multicomponent systems : focusing on class II MHC proteins and acetylcholinesterase

    Författare :Cecilia Lindgren; Anna Linusson; Antti Poso; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; acetylcholinesterase; class II MHC protein; drug design; molecular dynamics simulation; multicomponent system; nerve agent; oxime; quantitative structure-activity relationship; reactivator; rheumatoid arthritis; statistical molecular design; T-cell receptor;

    Sammanfattning : The field of medicinal chemistry is constantly evolving. Aided by advances within techniques as well as knowledge of biological systems, increasingly complex targets and drugs can be considered. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gene conversion of the mouse MHC class II

    Författare :Kari Högstrand; Ulf Gyllensten; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MHC; H2; gene conversion; evolution; polymorphism; Immunology; Immunologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is the most polymorphic vertebrate gene loci known to exist. Gene products of the MHC are responsible for presentation of antigen derived peptides to T cells of the immune system, which thereby become activated and involved in the elimination of particles recognised as non-self. 3. 3. Avian MHC: variation and selection in the wild

    Författare :Helena Westerdahl; MEMEG; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polymorphism; balancing selection; cDNA; avian malaria; great reed warbler; Djurekologi; bird; Animal ecology; immune defence; MHC class II; Major Histocompatibility Complex; MHC class I;

    Sammanfattning : In vertebrates the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) plays a central role in the specific immune defence against various pathogens. Compared with other coding genes the MHC genes exhibit an extremely high level of polymorphism that is maintained by balancing selection. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modified Glycopeptides Targeting Rheumatoid Arthritis : Exploring molecular interactions in class II MHC/glycopeptide/T-cell receptor complexes

    Författare :Ida E. Andersson; Jan Kihlberg; Anna Linusson Jonsson; Craig Crews; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Major histocompatibility complex; class II MHC; T-cell receptor; rheumatoid arthritis; collagen-induced arthritis; glycopeptide; amide bond isostere; comparative modeling; rational design; molecular docking; molecular dynamics simulation; statistical molecular design; Bioorganic chemistry; Bioorganisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; Biorganic Chemistry; bioorganisk kemi; datorlingvistik; computational linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that leads to degradation of cartilage and bone mainly in peripheral joints. In collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), a mouse model for RA, activation of autoimmune CD4+ T cells depends on a molecular recognition system where T-cell receptors (TCRs) recognize a complex between the class II MHC Aq protein and CII259-273, a glycopeptide epitope from type II collagen (CII). 5. 5. The quality control of MHC class I antigen presentation

    Författare :Kajsa M Paulsson; Antigen presentation; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chaperone; assembly; COPI; antigenic peptide; TAP; MHC; tapasin; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules present antigenic peptides to CD8+ T cells. The peptides are generated by proteasomes in the cytosol, then translocated across the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by the transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP). LÄS MER
