    Sammanfattning : The 1860 Swedish legislation on religion finally brought an end to the hitherto prevailing unified view on the church and the state in Sweden. The church and the state were from now on marked out as separate units. This took place primarily through the abolition of defection from the Evangelical-Lutheran faith as a criminal offence.     Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines how the Church of Sweden interfaced with secular culture andsociety in the transition from the 1920s to the 1930s. The study is founded on three events:the House of Bishops meeting and the General Convention of the church in 1929; the SwedishParliament's meetings in 1930, which led to laws on local parish governance; and the GeneralConvention of the church in 1932, especially concerning issues of church property.     Sammanfattning : The theoretical discussion of how to define the public sphere relies on Jürgen Habermas’ analysis of the bourgeois public sphere. I the thesis I use two generalized models of both the bourgeois and the representative public sphere. I consider how well the two actors’ engagement in the public sphere fits the two models. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses on the way the Amish view their life and actions as Christians. With its basis in first-hand observations from the settlements of Dover (DE) and Lancaster (PA) the inquiry describes, analyzes and interprets the ecclesiastical life of the Old Order Amish from an ecclesiological viewpoint.
