  1. 6. Steady, ready, go - proteomics of etioplast inner membranes reveals a high readiness for light

    Författare :Lisa A. Blomqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chloroplast; etioplast; NADPH:protochlorophyllide oxidoreductase; prolamellar body; proteomics; prothylakoid; transmembrane; Triticum aestivum; wheat;

    Sammanfattning : Light is essential for development of photosynthetically active chloroplasts. In the absence of light proplastids develop into etioplasts which are readily transformed into chloroplasts upon illuminat... LÄS MER

  2. 7. The Role of Proteases in Plant Development

    Författare :Maribel Garcia-Lorenzo; Christiane Funk; Zach Adam; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Comparative genomics; protease; PCD; leaf senescence; FtsH; Arabidopsis; Populus; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Proteases play key roles in plants, maintaining strict protein quality control and degrading specific sets of proteins in response to diverse environmental and developmental stimuli. Similarities and differences between the proteases expressed in different species may give valuable insights into their physiological roles and evolution. LÄS MER

  3. 8. The evolutionary history of Geum (Rosaceae, Colurieae) : a study of ancient allopolyploid speciation

    Författare :Jenny E. E. Smedmark; Birgitta Bremer; Pamela S. Soltis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Geum; Rosaceae; molecular phylogeny; allopolyploidy; morphological evolution; gynoecial development; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Allopolyploid speciation plays an important role in flowering plant evolution. Its contribution to diversity has been suggested to be significant in Geum. LÄS MER

  4. 9. CPSRP54 and co-translational targeting of chloroplast encoded thylakoid membrane proteins

    Författare :Robert Nilsson; Ralph Henry; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Chloroplasts are essential organelles of prokaryotic origin that are present in green tissue of higher plants and algae. Chloroplasts are predicted to contain ~3000 proteins and the vast majority of these proteins are encoded by nuclear genes. Chloroplasts also have a small circular genome encoding 100-120 tRNAs, rRNAs and proteins. LÄS MER

  5. 10. A genetic approach to the identification of new components regulating development in Arabidopsis thaliana

    Författare :Ingela Fridborg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; fysiologisk botanik; Physiological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Two new genes involved in important processes of plant development were identified in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The genes were isolated from mutants generated through insertional mutagenesis based on a transposon tagging approach. LÄS MER
