    Sammanfattning : There is limited knowledge of cognitive outcome extending beyond 5 years after childhood traumatic brain injury, CTBI. The main objectives of this thesis were to investigate cognitive outcome at 6-14 years after CTBI, and to evaluate if advancements in the neurosurgical care, starting 1992, did influence long-term outcome and early epidemiology.     Sammanfattning : This thesis aimed to study differences in early memory ability, social attention and interaction and how these different areas affect language and cognitive development. This was done using a longitudinal approach where a group of children were followed from infancy to childhood and also in a comparative study where a group of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder was compared to a group of typically developing children, matched on language age.     Sammanfattning : The starting point of the doctoral project Minnesrörelser (Movements of Memory) is a documentary material, based on interviews, archival documents, letters, diaries and more, from Germany and Sweden from the 1930's to present time, focusing on childhood, upbringing, eugenics, bilingualism. The family as a place for historical writing, family stories inevitably connected with political history, and how they can be passed on or kept secret makes up the main subject matter, where questions of memory and postmemory, heritage and transgenerational consequences of terror, war and guilt, as well as the role of silence, speaking and translation, are investigated.
