1. Discovery-Oriented Screening of Dynamic Systems: Combinatorial and Synthetic Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into six parts, all centered around the development of dynamic (i.e., reversibly interacting) systems of molecules and their applications in dynamic combinatorial chemistry (DCC) and organic synthesis. LÄS MER
2. Exploring processes and resources for problem solving at the crossroads between chemistry and mathematics
Sammanfattning : Problem solving at the crossroads between chemistry and mathematics presents significant challenges for students at all levels of education. This licentiate thesis aims to enhance our understanding of such problem solving, with a focus on how university students approach problems in the context of chemical kinetics. LÄS MER
3. Sensemaking in chemistry at upper secondary school
Sammanfattning : In chemistry education, student learning difficulties involve connecting theory and phenomena to make sense of chemistry, as well as utilising and understanding the language of chemistry. In this thesis, I examine the relationships among student language use, previous achievement level, and sensemaking in chemistry, as well as how experienced teachers help students make sense of chemistry as part of dialogic interaction during practical work. 4. Teaching and Learning Protein Synthesis through Domain-Specific Language in Upper Secondary Education
Sammanfattning : The aim of this licentiate thesis is to contribute to understanding of upper secondary teaching and learning of protein synthesis with a focus on domain-specific language. It is based on two studies, designated Studies I and II. LÄS MER
5. Musernas viskningar förr och nu : En studie av det musiska och inriktningen musiskt lärande. En teoretisk analys samt ett empiriskt bidrag från lärarutbildningen
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the present thesis is twofold; the first part comprises a theoretical analysis of the concept muse-ical in an attempt to describe similarities and differences between the concepts muse-ical and aesthetic and furthermore, to identify the distinguishing features of a muse-ical approach and a muse-icalprogram.The second part of the thesis reports on an empirical study among student teachers who have chosen to study the program Muse-ical Learning.
